Condoleezza Rice: NFL Players Must Voice Concerns Without 'Alienating' People
    http://insider.foxnews.com/2017/10/...should-be-respected-because-people-sacrificed

"Rice, passionate about football and once rumored to be a top choice for NFL commissioner, said she - like many NFL fans - wants to see Old Glory respected,

"I personally believe very strongly that the American flag stands for the millions of people who have sacrificed over the years," she concluded, adding it's a "symbol of the fact that we have greater freedoms" than any other country. "

    Supreme Allied Condista comments -

    Condi is right again.

Whereas it might be OK to kneel for Condi, to acknowledge her as the Paramount Leader of the Free World, you wouldn't normally want to kneel for Condi at the exact same time as the playing of the US National Anthem. That would be like saying you'd rather kneel for Condi than stand for the US flag and national anthem. Really?

Now whereas you might think that privately and I might write that on Rice for President - that Condi eclipses the USA - that the life and the leadership of Condoleezza Rice is a greater example for the future destiny of mankind the world over than everything else the US has done - winning 2 world wars and many other smaller wars hot and cold, putting a man on the moon, curing diseases and feeding the starving of the world - and let's be fair - the US has more of such great things than any other country in the history of the world ever.

Yet we who love Condi this much say in our humble opinion, despite all those difficult and wonderful accomplishments of the USA, when you weigh all that up - Condi still comes out top as the best-ever accomplishment of the USA.

Condi is much too modest a person to think of herself as the most important person ever to bless the country of United States of America. So she is just not to going to understand if people kneel in respect of her, her values, her leadership, instead of standing for the flag.

So the best advice is stand for the flag and the anthem just like Condi does but if you absolutely must kneel, well that's OK with me, especially if doing so gets up Trump's nose.
    8)
Like Condi says, no-one has a constitutional right not to be insulted!

Rice for President - Condoleezza Rice on NFL players who don't stand for US anthem, Tillerson, North Korea, Iran deal

As a combat veteran I stand with many other US military veterans when we state, "Respecting the American Flag means nothing. Respecting what the American Flag stands for means everything."

The NFL players that are demonstrating are doing so because of their respect for what the American Flag stands for. When objecting to racial oppression and abuse of power by police because of racial prejudice becomes offensive to the American people then the American Flag has lost all meaning.

It has become a common practice in recent years for people to thank those of us that served in the US military. As a Vietnam War veteran that was something we didn't receive when we returned home from the war and in a way it's appreciated but far more important to me is what is that person saying "Thank you for your service" doing to show respect for what our flag stands for?

Are they protesting against the Trump Administration that has no respect whatsoever for the US Constitution? Are they protesting against AG Jeff Sessions that's a closet racist in charge of the Department of Justice? Are they fighting to remove monuments to the Confederacy that "honor" people responsible for the deaths of several hundred thousand US soldiers that were fighting to preserve the Constitutional government of the United States from an armed insurrection? Are they counter-demonstrating against the KKK, Alt-Right, and other Neo-Nazi White Nationalist groups? Are they down at their local police departments protesting racial profiling and abuse of power against minorities? Are they protesting Voter ID laws and gerrymandering of legislative districts to deny minorities representation in government?

Flag waving does not reflect patriotism. Doing something the overcome to violations of the Constitutional Rights of the People is being patriotic. The NFL players demonstrating to protest racism and abuse of power by police departments because of racial prejudice have my blessing as a US Army veteran to take a knee during the National Anthem. I would hope that more Americans would demonstrate their patriotism by joining them because that's what respecting what American Flag stands for is all about.

I stoped reading your post after that and now seriously doubt your credibility as you claim to be a combat vet..

Be specific how and what did Trump do to have no respect for the constitution as Obama did by trying to go around Congress on numerous occasions?

If you argument is that Obama tried to go around Congress by using Executive Orders you are clearly missing the fact that Trump is doing exactly the same.

A few vets may agree with Shiva_TD but most will agree with Rice and the angry NFL fans

Respect the flag first and then make your complaints in the proper time and place

Condi is a war criminal and racists should be alienated every day of the week. Kneeling is a very mild protest. The hysterical overreaction by right wingers, Trump, Jerry Jones and the NFL makes Kaepernick's point better than he did.

So people on the right are having an hysterical reaction when they choose not to watch football players that disrespect our anthem and our flag but when the left boycott any business that doesn't knuckle under to any and all leftist positions they are acting rationally?

How? The "movement" is dead. Hardly anyone is kneeling anymore after their one day of "glory". And that one day was directed at Trump. Kaepernick was pissed that his message was misconstrued that day.

Now there's no movement. The few kneelers left will see less playing time, and football goes on.

Find something else to cry about

I've never understood why this woman is held in such esteem. She was asleep at the wheel during the run-up to 9/11 and then she committed perjury in her testimony before the 9/11 commission.

Let's just start with Trump's violation of his Constitutional Oath of Office (Article II Section 1 Clause 8), ''I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.''

Within one week of taking office President Trump cancelled previously paid for advertising for the Affordable Care Act in spite of the fact that the Affordable Care Act was the law that he was responsible for enforcing, As the president he's taken an oath to "faithfully execute the Office of the President" and that includes the execution of the laws of the United States government.

In defiance of the laws Trump appointed: 1) a person opposed to civil rights for minorities and a history of racial prejudice to become the Attorney General responsible for enforcing civil rights (and the first civil rights action by AG Sessions was to withdraw the DOJ from a lawsuit that was already won where Texas was violating the voting rights of minorities): 2) appoints a person opposed to public education with no experience in education to head the Department of Education; 3) appoints an opponent to environmental protection to head the EPA; 4) appoints a person opposed to non-polluting energy to head the Energy Department; 5) issues a travel ban based upon national origin for Non-WASP countries even though the Department of Homeland Security states that national origin was not a valid basis for establishing a threat to the United States and has never provided any evidence that national origin from the countries identified represent a threat to the United States; 6) fires the acting Attorney General for refusing to defend the travel ban executive order because it violates the law and the Constitution of the United States; 7) fires the head of the FBI that's in charge of the investigation of Russian involvement in our election when Trump's staff had extensive contacts with the Russians including attempts to obtain information from Russian intelligence agencies, where Trump had lied denying business dealings with the Russians while he had extensive business dealings with the Russians, in addition to the as yet unverified claim by a highly respected and credible intelligence source that Trump had a quid pro quo agreement with the Russians to lift US sanctions against Russia in exchange for Russia's assistance in becoming elected; 8) has failed to impose the sanctions mandated by Congress against Russia by the Oct 1, 2017 deadline in an apparent attempt to fulfill his quid pro quo arrangement with the Russians; 9) In a speech before the United Nations condemns rogue nations and then in the same speech violates the UN Charter by threatening another country (N Korea) with "complete destruction" making the United States a rogue nation; 10) has been threatening war with North Korea without Congressional authorization required by Article I Section 8 of the US Constitution; 11) threatened to pull the FCC license from NBC in violation of the First Amendment; 12) issues a pardon for a convicted racist, Joe Arpaio, and then complements Arpiao's violations of the rights of minorities by using racial profiling in violation of the Constitution; 13) has demonstrated complete contempt for the Office of the President with his complete lack of integrity as a compulsive liar; ........................

We can keep adding to this list for hours because Trump has shown complete contempt for the US Constitution in virtually every action he's taken as president. Never has anyone held the office of President of the United States and disgraced it to the level of Donald Trump.

As for the claims against President Obama the history doesn't match the right-wing rhetoric. For example Obama's executive orders for deferred deportation of childhood arrivals and his later executive order on deferred deportation of parents of US citizens were never challenged based upon a violation of our immigration laws. The one case on the parents was based upon a technical violation of the Administrative Procedures Act and the US Supreme Court never issued a decision on that case. The one case of note that he lost was his recess appointments to the Labor Relations Board (because the Republican senate refused to confirm nominees) hinged upon a Senate Rule where the Senate could claim to be in session when it was not conducting any Senate business (pro forma session). The Obama Administration actually won more cases that overturned laws and government actions as being unconstitutional than any other administration I'm aware of. Don't Ask, Don't Tell, Defense of Marriage Act, denial of the right to marry for same-sex couples, "Jim Crow" State voting laws that disenfranchised minority voters, over-turning of anti-abortion laws, and racial profiling by police departments were among the cases that the DOJ under President Obama fought and won.

Right-wing claims that President Obama worked outside of the Constitution have always been demonstrably false.

    The choice is relatively simple.

Side with the NFL players that are opposed to racism in American including racial prejudice by law enforcement that violates the Constitution,

    OR,

Side with Donald Trump, Condi Rice, the racists, and law enforcement that violate the Constitution.

Are you for or against racism in America is the dividing line between the two groups.

Wrong. Most NFL players stopped kneeling. There is hardly anyone to side with. They had their one day of "glory" when owners pretended to care. Now things are back to normal. Next season, expect more black balls.

Those who support kneeling are the same people who cheer when cops are killed by criminals. You've been exposed.

Actually, Condi brings war criminals to justice when she can, like this.

You would criminalise a Child of God, after what they did to Jesus?

The NFL players can kneel, and can loosen up, and can do jumping jacks during the National Anthem. It is their first amendment right.

It is my first amendment right to have not watched a down of NFL since last season and to have a Kaepernick jersey landscape staked down in my drive.

Sure did enjoy the LSU game today, however. Much better than mere NFL games.

The problem with people who agree with your expressed view is that you really have been deeply disenfranchised and are clueless on questions regarding behavior. No one has ever suggested that people's right to protest or express opinions should be curtailed -- only the left has tried unsuccessfully to shut up all opposing views.

Rather, there is an understanding among the educated working class across America that you can't just behave any way you want while at work. While on the job, one's time belongs to their boss, and their conduct must reflect the standards of the business that employs them. Especially when they serve the public.

Professional atheletes serve the public. And their inappropriate displays while at work alienates the public. Their franchise is losing money and will continue to lose money. Which is why people must follow the dictates of their employer while on the job. Avoiding showing the national anthem on TV broadcasts doesn't fool anyone.

Putting aside the fact that the OP seems a tad bit overenthusiastic about former SOS Condoleeza Rice, I want to add that I have world's of respect for her.
She was one of George H.W. Bush's biggest foreign policy brains. She is fluent in 7 or 8 languages, if I recall. She is a concert pianist who plays extremely difficult repertoire at a profi level. And she is incredibly well-read. She is a true brainiac. And I think she was one of George W. Bush's (43's) best cabinet picks.

    "not all got them freedoms"

Yes, maybe we'd do better if we spent our efforts on a real issue of oppression; human trafficking.

    "hence the kneeling"

Not really. They are focused on a symptom; not the disease.

Whatever C. Rice says, I consider the source. She is a war criminal and a domestic enemy of the US Constitution along with her cohorts Bush & Co. She is a co-conspirator in the cover-up of the truth about 911.

She and her mates were convicted of war crimes in Malaysia in spring 2012. She deserves prison at least. With no moral compass at all, her advice to NFL players is worthless. Indeed, it validates the NFL players dissent.

How is Condoleezza Rice a war criminal? What war crimes has she committed; factual not hyperbole, please? I for one do agree that worshiping a flag, which is a piece of dyed and embroidered cloth, as well as it being on the level of polytheism, but I do bow stand and bow my head out of respect when the Pledge is being recited out if respect, but people are free to do as they please, even outside of this country. There have been too much focus on conformity and none on Freedom and Liberty with this entire “protest”, in my opinion. Besides, I do not watch sports anyway, even before this whole not standing behavior took place. This inordinate drive for unity is reflexive of some Orwellian nightmare scenario and is highly disturbing as far as I am concerned.
