And to Payton Manning, first Quarterback to win 200 games in the NFL. Now, if he is smart he will retire.

Excellent game but the National Anthem sung by Lady Gaga - arggghhhh was that awful not the anthem the damned singing of it. They had several services best singers couldn't they have picked five and had them sing the anthem and gave her money to some service charity? Its a simple song and how can they always get these moronic singers who want to embellish it all the time.

I was hoping the Panthers would win but the Broncos wanted it more.

I think we've seen Peyton's last game and it was good to see him go out on top.

It was also good to see Wade Phillips finally win a Super Bowl ring - he called another great game - and Von Miller was AWESOME. He definitely deserved the MVP award.

    Congrats Bronco fans

I know it's Manning's last game. He dropped the name "Budweiser" two times in post-game interviews. Active NFL players can't openly endorse alcohol products. Rumor is he's getting an Inbev beer distributorship...Inbev owns Budweiser.

That was not an accident specifically referencing "Budweiser," his sponsorhip began as soon as the game ended...Peyton Manning has played his last game in the NFL. You can take that to the bank.

    Interesting - I didn't know that.

Like most people, I figured I was watching him play his last game yesterday. Time and injuries have obviously taken a toll on his career.

I thought Marshall Faulk put it best last night - in the past Peyton carried his teammates to victory and last night his teammates carried him to victory.

I'm sure Broncos fans are experiencing a little deju vu here. John Elway couldn't win a Super Bowl until Mike Shanahan and Terrell Davis gave him a running game. Last night it was Denver's defense that made Manning the first QB to win a Super Bowl with two different teams.

Peyton gave up one pick, and fumbled. He basically did enough not to shoot themselves in the foot too badly. It was not an overwhelming QB performance. For sure the defense won the day. The offense put the Panthers on their heels in the opening drive and that's exactly what he did against the Patriots. Same game plan. Do just enough not to beat yourselves and let the #1 defense in the NFL take over. .

Yup. It was remarkable how Kubiak took the ball out of Manning's hands towards the end of the game. He had so much faith in that defense he was content to go three and out on the ground, eat as much clock as he could and then turn things over to Wade Phillips' unit.

And what happens? Von Miller gets his second strip of the game deep in Carolina's end of the field. Game over.

That was one of the best performances by a defense I have ever seen in a Super Bowl. People compare those guys to the 1985 Bears and the 2000 Ravens, but neither one of those teams played an offense as good as the one Carolina had this year.

The best pass rushers and secondary in the history of the NFL as far as I"m concerned. They shut down the passing game of what is probably the best passing offense in the NFL with the New England Patriots. They did the same thing 2 weeks later against the #1 overall offense in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers. They are simply the best combined pass defenders, rushers and secondary, the game has ever seen.

If it had been possible, he should have gotten the MVP.

That's very possible. The only defense I can recall being that complete is the one that carried the Steelers to 4 Super Bowl victories in the 1970s. Back then I was a Raiders fan and the last team I wanted my boys to face in the playoffs was Pittsburgh. To this day, every time I see the Immaculate Reception it makes me want to puke.

Speaking of which, I thought it was great that Kenny Stabler finally made it into the Hall of Fame. It's a shame it didn't happen a year earlier when he would have been alive to enjoy it. :(

I enjoyed the defense dominated game, I thought it was fun and really didnt care who won or lost.

But on a side note, did anyone else hear and get tired of that one (*)(*)(*)(*)ing fan who was "WOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO" the whole time Denver had the football? I swear if I had been sitting next to that dude I would have choked him. It was driving me nuts watching the game. I dunno, maybe my stereo system was picking up something others couldn't hear, but (*)(*)(*)(*) that person did it the whole damned game. Had to be a Carolina fan.

    It is spelled JIMI.

In the future, when making cultural references, please spell the name correctly.

    Just a friendly reminder.
