Well, yeah. Anyone in his right mind wants a sea change from the party that’s sacrificed itself on the altar of Trumpism. I voted third party last election because I have a conscience, but most of my family and friends will be voting straight Democrat for the foreseeable <<MOD EDIT - Rule 2 - Removed Group Insult>> Lee S

Hope you all thought it was worth it. You’ve probably lost an entire generation of voters because of this foolish gamble.

I don't care about the opinions of conservatives and I don't want the democrats to pander to them. There's a handful of conservatives that would vote for a dem under any circumstance. Compromising is accepting defeat.

What is a true conservative, Ron?

I don't mind telling you, I was pretty bored with (and that's putting it mildly) so-called "conservatives" who sold us down the river to global interests and never-ending wars. So I voted for Trump. Yeah, he's got his faults and warts, but I didn't want another lame, Jeb Bush-type, cookie cutter, globalist, establishment Republican straight out of the Beltway of Permanent Washington, D.C.

Did you? (No, you wanted ... ugh! ... Hillary)

Anyways, what is a true conservative? ... from your perspective.

Thread is just an excuse flat out for the OP creator to go on a TDS rant then when people respond with the same level of silliness.. Tells us to not feed trolls

Only republican to actually make government smaller, actually gave the middle class tax cuts, actually reduced onerous regulations.

The only idiots are the ones that deny this.

Tens of millions of Republican voters were prepared to compromise last election & vote for a candidate who was a long way from their ideal. As a result they get two SCOTUS appointments (at least) and hundreds of appointments to lower courts - actions that will have consequences for a generation or more.

All those who opposed Trump but were unprepared to compromise by voting Clinton achieved nothing. They suffered a defeat just as surely as all the compromisers.

Compromising to achieve something greater is what adults do. No candidate exists who can please every anti-Trump voter, so the only way to remove him is compromise.

Right... Merrick garland instead of Gorsuch, open borders instead of ICE, Obamacare instead of tax cuts, government financed abortions, Paris accords, oil dependence on Arabs and Russia instead of pipelines....

These pathetic sore losers Republican never Trumpers are frankly beyond irrelevant, not even complete idiots pay attention to their bleating.

It doesn't really matter. Kiss-of-death-Trump is digging a big, deep, hole for the GOP that will leave them buried for decades.

Trump has demonstrated that the GOP is devoid of principles and policies and will follow any megalomaniac off a cliff.

It makes more strategic sense to conceive of voters as a resource rather than independent agents. Fact is, you gotta run candidates that will effectively tap into that resource.

I agree that a vote should not be wasted. Voting either Red or Blue is a wasted vote (unless you know for sure that the person you are voting for is anti Establishment)

    We need more independents.

The losers are the those that voted for Trump because they thought he was anti Establishment. Now that Trump has turned out to be an Establishment wonk - those voters were duped.

There are no guarantees that trump will win; if he loses, will you go and sit in the corner and cry?

Well I agree with him even though I usually vote Republican in non-local elections. The GOP seems to only care about spending when they are NOT in control of all three. When Bush had both chambers spending went up even more. At least when the Dems control one of the three the GOP has to pretend to care about spending. We do better with split government.
