Biden did not call Trump xenophobic because of the partial flight travel restriction. Or if he did, I have yet to see a single quote that backs up that claim.

(Yes, I am aware of the quote where he said, "this is not the time for Trump's history of racism and xenophobia," but there is no proof that I have seen which links that quote implicitly or explicitly to Trump's partial travel restriction)

 

Could you enlighten us on where they are getting their numbers? Seriously, every single positive comes through the CDC so how the hell do you expect somebody else to have a better number. If it's underreported then it only lowers the death rate you've been pushing, over 2%. As of yesterday based on confirmed cases the death rate through the CDC, in the us, was .0195. It could go up or down we just don't know but pushing false numbers is doesn't help anyone.

 

They can get their numbers directly from local sources, i.e. health agencies within each State or municipality.

I have not been pushing a mortality rate of 2%, I have repeatedly quoted the WHO estimate of 3.4% and Dr. Fauci who believes that the rate will end up much closer to 1%. And I have used both to argue that this virus is objectively much, much worse than the flu.

 

Agreed. I'm questioning more if it's growing and spreading at the rate that was predicted in the US. We have been hearing about the gloom and doom that was heading our way but so far, that's not happening. Obviously people are getting it and since testing is becoming more readily available, there are more positives, but for nationwide numbers, it's still very low.

 

So all the testing has to go through the CDC but they are calling all their local sources every day to update. I can't believe that you believe that but to each their own, I'll trust the people actually recording and investigating each positive test. But they are aware if it's a positive test. As of this morning, 68 deaths nationwide due to coronavirus. It will grow, but at the rate expected. Many here predicted millions dead.

 

No, I unaware of any requirement that the CDC must be made aware of positive tests.

The most conservative estimate from the CDC predicts 200,000 dead and 1.7 million dead in the worst case.

The absolute number really isn't that important. What you are missing is the presentation of the data and the history of other countries that were infected before us.
For example I think it is hard to find out how many days between the doubling of cases.

Let's see that quote because I'm sorry I got to see some proof on that, how did private institutions have tests or even facilities to provide results before this weekend since all the results came directly from the CDC. They allowed State organizations to provide results over the weekend.

There is no cure and to date no vaccine so all hospitals can do is treat the symptoms and any treatable problems that are piggybacking. Not Trump, Obama or Nancy can alter that. We will get through it, it is not at the level of the plague or the Spanish flu. People work through the flu every day and most could work through this crap too but we have chosen to shut down the world instead.

It is not any less severe than predicted a few days ago and there have been 95 deaths in the US to date. If anything, the news has gotten worse every day.

Every Press Conference when they get asked, "How many Americans have been tested?" The response is, "We are working on getting a central data base where the private institutions can report whether tests have been conducted and the results of those tests."
