The virus poses minimal to no risk to 99% of the population. There’s no need to live in a state of constant fear.

I hope you're right and Biden takes over and we will do the right thing to stem the pandemic.

There will still be those that won't wear the mask, and those that will wear neck gaiters and bandannas that do work just as well There some that can't get the face masks because they're too expensive so the have to go to an alternative like the bandannas or something.

If the" hysteria" dies down.....that is a good thing. But that will not imply that the situation is under any control. Numbers don't lie. (only people do;-)

I don't know about that because of the holiday gatherings like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Stuff like that.

I clearly remember Trump supporters saying that the hysteria will be over if Biden wins the election.

Suddenly governors and mayors are going to notice that the virus poses minimal to no risk to 99% of the population.

I'll do the maths for you.
    320,000,000 divided by 100 = 3,200,000
1% of the population is 3.2 million deaths.

Right. There’s no reason to be living in fear. Of the 1%’who are at risk, 99% of them will be just fine.

The virus is not a particularly scary thing. There’s nothing to be afraid of.

Unless you’re old, immunocompromised or have a chronic condition as does 40% of the US population.

Unless they care about spreading the disease to others, who have greater risk. You clearly don't care about their lives. Some of us do. I'm not asking that we live "in a state of constant fear." I'm asking that we be realistic about the risk of the disease, an ask which triggers Trumpists.

Unlike you and many others I refuse to live in fear. Fortunately I've been spending the winter in a place where most people are living life as normal.

I can't describe how absurd it is thinking that 40% of the population is facing the risk of death from the virus.

You have repeatedly claim there is "no risk" from COVID.

Please explain what conditions allow "no risk", other than the paid propaganda from the billion-boosters who want to keep the stock market up.

But what would the numbers have been if you all pretended the virus was harmless and done nothing.
Further 400,000 deaths might not be a high proportion of the population, but if 400,000 Americans had died in a tsunami and the government had done little to prevent the deaths, would your attitude be the same?
Or what if the Chinese killed 400,000 Americans with a H bomb, would that be OK?

I think you need to read the post he was replying to and your post when you wrote "Shocking as it feels, its still only 0.13% of the US population." seems to be trivalising the situation

No I was reassuring, not trivialising. I was certainly not joining the camp that says we don't need to take simple precautions.

There is a prediction that the COVID-19 death toll could reach 500,000 by the end of next month which is February. I just hope we can stem the virus as soon as possible.
