How would you know that? Can you predict on how long this will last?

If people are sent home to self treat until they get into so much trouble they have to go to the hospital it may be so late in the game that the ventilators aren't enough to save them. Perhaps a little quicker in the cycle might make them more effective.

Everybody talks about the $2 trillion package. The fact is our national debt has risen over $9 trillion since the end of last fiscal year (September 2019).

We now stand at over $32 trillion in debt.

I thought it was closer to 50%. This was the reason why I was questioning why all the news is about ventilators and not enough about ppe. In UK 4 doctors and many more nurses and auxillary staff have now died. The lack of ppe for them is alarming. Ppe is much cheaper than ventilators yet much more money is being spent on ventilators. The quality of life for those surviving 20% could be so poor that some may wish that they died. I'm still not convinced that we are taking the right approach to getting through this pandemic

I watched an in depth press conference from 2 days ago that had Dr. Birx and Dr. Fauci explain in details what was expected to happen in the month of April. If you watch it all the way through, you'll probably have a better understanding of it. It looks like they expect cases to continue to climb for another 10-14 days which we should peak or stabalize before a gradual slop downward. We can at least hope this happens as expected or close.

    Impossible to predict that.

Anyway, the "model" that predicted a MINIMUM of 100,000 Deaths (with a High End of 240,000) was based on a Uniform Nationwide Quarantine.

Since that has NOT happened, the latest Estimate has Now Been Revised UPWARD to a Minimum of 170,000.

Trump Needs to order a Nationwide Quarantine,

IF Trump doesn't do that, the Death Count will go up.

Trump is NOT taking the action to "flatten the curve".

The economy will come back. If the grandkids cant buy the newest cell phone or the latest video game so what ? Lol

Plus perhaps our leaders will see how stupid it was to place the interests of our elites above the people and the health of this nation and bring our industry back for security and jobs here and stop destroying our middle class.

Our worry is that the latest bubble will pop !

PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine scientists today announced a potential vaccine against SARS-CoV-2, the new coronavirus causing the COVID-19 pandemic. When tested in mice, the vaccine, delivered through a fingertip-sized patch, produces antibodies specific to SARS-CoV-2 at quantities thought to be sufficient for neutralizing the virus.

The paper appeared today in EBioMedicine, which is published by The Lancet, and is the first study to be published after critique from fellow scientists at outside institutions that describes a candidate vaccine for COVID-19. The researchers were able to act quickly because they had already laid the groundwork during earlier coronavirus epidemics.

“We had previous experience on SARS-CoV in 2003 and MERS-CoV in 2014. These two viruses, which are closely related to SARS-CoV-2, teach us that a particular protein, called a spike protein, is important for inducing immunity against the virus. We knew exactly where to fight this new virus,” said co-senior author Andrea Gambotto, M.D., associate professor of surgery at the Pitt School of Medicine. “That’s why it’s important to fund vaccine research. You never know where the next pandemic will come from.”

“Our ability to rapidly develop this vaccine was a result of scientists with expertise in diverse areas of research working together with a common goal,” said co-senior author Louis Falo, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of dermatology at Pitt’s School of Medicine and UPMC.

Compared to the experimental mRNA vaccine candidate that just entered clinical trials, the vaccine described in this paper — which the authors are calling PittCoVacc, short for Pittsburgh Coronavirus Vaccine — follows a more established approach, using lab-made pieces of viral protein to build immunity. It’s the same way the current flu shots work.

Unemployed at 30% is more serious than cell phones.

Trump has been bringing jobs back to the US.

Respiratory distress and difficulty with breathing? Hmmm. Take your chances with the ventilator and possibly survive with lung and other organ damage or settle for the soothing arms of Morphine?

You don't have that choice either. But I can be a responsable adult and behave in a manner that causes the least harm to anyone, including myself. I will choose to obey guidelines .... as much as possible ... and do my part for the common welfare. You do what the heck you want. I am willingly submitting to authority during this pandemic. They all know more about it than I do.

P.S. my grandparents also lived through the depression. And I have been money poor most of my life. But I am rich with life. I am thankful for every breath.

One doctor was saying that by the time they see someone in the ER, they often only have minutes to get them intubated.

Is morphine truely painless? Or are you just paralyzed when the reaper takes your breath? I was once under for a broken arm and couldn't breathe or tell anyone.

Trump is WHINING about the New Investigation and calling it a "Witch Hunt"

    This is COMICAL.

Trump is actually claiming that this Trainwreck is increasing his poll numbers.

Trump has gone off the deep end (even more than normal) to being completely DELUSIONAL.

Congress has every right to investigate why Trump dropped the ball on this (in the early stages).

It sounds like a large portion of the ventilators will be arriving just after most people who need them are already dead.
