This study works to directly refute those people who are trying to embrace the "well, the elderly would have died soon anyways."

The study is published here: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.04.23.20076042v1.full.pdf

The researchers note that the virus is "much more complex" than just a cough virus because of "people starting off with a cough and shortness of breath, then seeming to get better, and then returning with a more systemic (whole body) disease, inflammation in the blood vessels and a tendency to form blood clots in different parts of the body."

The researchers also find that obesity is linked with higher mortality, even after controlling for other comorbidities.

So they tell you to stay at home, because going out increases your chances of dying from coronavirus. So you stay at home... where there is nothing to do but eat.... and then it turns out that obesity increases your chances of dying from coronavirus!

    Oh, the irony!
