Oprah?? HAHAHAHAH. uhh no. BTW your sig line is disingeuous. There are many people in the building trades who's pay outstrips most degreed professions.

Oprah, is a self made billionaire unlike Trump who used daddies money.
And I'm sorry you feel a college education is only valued in terms of money. That said I know college educated people whose incomes far outstrip any building trades person.

Your problem is you thumb your nose at tradespeople, thinking they're somehow inferior. And Oprah? She is a rich airhead at best. Never liked her one bit.

I did not say that, I did not imply that nor did I suggest that and I certainly did not thumb my nose at them. I have the greatest respect for tradespeople. I majored in vocational education and taught machine shop in a community college. I in fact had a grand debate with an EPS prof where I suggested that shop and home ec should be part of the general curriculum shared by all students in high school. My rational was that when the college tracked see how things are done they'd appreciate more the mechanic who can tell them what is wrong with their car before they finish parking it in the garage.

You dissed college education and your criteria for that was there are building trades people making more money than most college grads. That is saying that the only value of education is money. I disagree. Yes, your chances of a higher paying job increase with your education but more importantly the better educated overall a population is the more they attract new high quality jobs. If you want to be China where the workers, including the engineers, sleep in dorms and see their families at vacation time that's your affair but I'd rather see the US lead and create the next generation silicon valley.
