Is this a good thing or a bad thing? Will telepathy ever really happen? Do you want other people reading your brain waves?

Could we soon 'speak' telepathically? Mind-reading computer deciphers words from brainwaves BEFORE they are spoken
Technology identifies distinct brainwaves produced for different words
Scientists said they can decipher words with up to 90 per cent accuracy
It could allow people to communicate in the future without having to talk
Device may even allow people to issue instructions to robots by thought

A 'mind-reading' device that can decipher words from brainwaves without them being spoken has been developed by Japanese scientists, raising the prospect of 'telepathic' communication.
Researchers have found the electrical activity in the brain is the same when words are spoken and when they are left unsaid.
By looking for the distinct wave forms produced before speaking, the team was able to identify words such as 'goo', 'scissors' and 'par' when spoken in Japanese.
Researchers from Japan used technology that measures the electrical activity of the brain to decipher brainwaves that occur before someone speaks (stock picture). They found distinct brainwaves were formed before syllables were spoken

The scientists behind the technology said they can identify brain waves associated with syllables or letters of the Japanese alphabet, meaning it may be possible to decode entire words and sentences without the need for any of them being physically spoken.

I would be true telepathy (mind-to-mind communication) only if scientists found a way to inject speech directly into our brains, thus bypassing our hearing, otherwise it is just mind reading. I would be interested to see if the technique detects surface thoughts or just inaudible speech.

when you think words inside your brain, they have shown it sends electrical impulses to the nerves in the ear, so they can also be intercepted there

We already know telepathy is real. And that on some levels there is plenty of evidence that consciousness is not confined to the inside of the skull. Of course the dogmatic materialists do not read about it, for they do not believe in it, regardless of the evidence. So they do not look at the evidence. For if consciousness can extend outside of the brain, then it shows materialism is what it actually is, a philosophical assumption. And this of course weakens materialism as a way of looking at reality, and says its conscious idiocy. Or conscious ignorance.

My significant other has this stare...one that requires no words from her...and I know exactly what she is thinking...is this telepathy or fear?

It will be an interesting day when technology will be capable of knowing our very private and personal thoughts. We will need to start thinking in encrypted speak! In our minds today we carry so much personal angst and evil but benign thoughts so what actions might be taken against us? And just think of the errors we might make in our telepathy like 'I want to have pizza' and the other person senses 'I want to pee on you'...to which they replay 'okay'...
