Did you know that of that 4.7%, the US makes up about 47 (*)(*)(*)(*)ing % of the entire combined Military budget of the planet?

    Yup. That's because we're awesome.

The bottom line is that I'm really sick of leftist whining that military spending is solely to blame for our country's debt.

Not a single person from the left on this forum has said that military spending is the sole reason for your debt. Which would explain the lack of interest in this thread - it's such a lame straw man that even the right won't bother with it.

Lool, Eritrea's GDP was $1.87 billion in 2010. So their military budget is about $260 million? We probably spend more than that on lightbulbs for the Pentagon...

Name one of those countries who also POLICE THE WORLD?

The congress of the USA no longer cares for it's own citizens. They have passed the Defense budget for the following year! There are no cuts and quite the contrary! The DEFENSE budget should be voted on at the same time as the rest of the budget. This is like not counting in energy or food in the CPI!!! Why is our military in Japan, So Korera, and Europe for any other reason than to prop up the economies of those nations. What is wrong with caring for one's own country first or PROTECTIONISM? There has been no hint of a military take over by Russia of the european countries. In So Korea, we dont have enough troops there to stop an invasion, but just enough to start ANOTHER UNFUNDED WAR. Japan leaves us bare, because of the unsustanable supply line. By the way the present defense budget passed for $513 BILLION!!!!

Of couse it isnt! There are many factors, but out-of-control military spending is a major cause! The Unfunded wars, over-regulation, congress's not bothering to adhere to the Constitution, and the FRS' guessing about the economy are the other major factors that the USA is BROKE AND BROKEN.

No wonder Pentagon got hit on 9-11, they probably ran out of money. I should be paid millions for crunching numbers on a computer 10 hrs per day analyzing aircraft structures, but I'm not.

I believe we spend way too much on our budget. It's not so much the percentage of GDP, as that fact that we spend more than Russia, China, GB, The ME, S. America, France & Australia combined. That leads me to believe we're spending more than we need to.
