I welcome Trump's trade war on China. It is a nasty culture that is materialistic, doesn't value copyright law, and has little creativity so they steal American innovation. It should not be envied or emulated. I find this film title symbolic of their vapid, greedy, soulless culture. If you think the wage gap is an issue in America, just look at the suicide nets in the slave labor factories like Apple's Foxconn uses. The in your face class warfare used in films like Crazy Rich Asians is cancerous and respectable Asian people should be embarrassed.
Not only class warfare, but the racial tensions that this movie insinuates bothers me. This is not a good look for what are supposedly a smart people. The purpose of the movie is to have an all Asian cast. The uproar at the Oscars for not enough black nominees is similar. I don't see the draw of this movie.
