These appear the current laws restricting shipping a purchased firearm to an FFL dealer (ie federal form has to be filled out with its restrictions): RESTRICTED STATE SALES POLICIES: California - No hi-cap mags w/o a hi-cap mag permit. No defense/clip fed shotguns. No semi-auto rifles. No M-16 bolts. Connecticut - No semi-auto rifles. Hawaii - No handguns w/ mags over 10rds. Massachusetts - No handguns. No hi-cap mags. No defense/clip fed shotguns. No semi-auto rifles. New Jersey - No firearms w/ mags over 15rds. New York State - CURRENTLY NOT SHIPPING SEMI-AUTO HANDGUNS TO NEW YORK, No shipping to NYC. No handguns w/ mags over 10rds. Washington State - No M-16 bolts. However, most gun sellers will not ship anything to New York, California or Hawaii. Some time ago, a gun owners club in California took out ads on gun websites pleading to not be abandoned as most gun dealers won't ship any firearm or ammo to California, if anything at all. An end run around laws also has been to get companies to ban gun sales from their websites such as Ebay and Amazon, and to ban any credit card transaction such as Paypal and some credit card processing companies. The government has learned it can totally bypass Congress and legislatures by going directly to companies. The F.D.A. does this all the time. Virtually all companies will do anything any agency asks them to do regards of laws. While there is a push to make all gun laws federal and that those federal laws veto any state and local laws, that also carries risks. Many states have far greater restrictions on firearms and ammo than federal laws and regulations, which are a nightmare of their own right, particularly the ever changing "point" system where you have to add up the points for components on your rifle to know whether it is legal or a federal felony to have. Changing a worn trigger with an imported trigger could put you into a federal prison.
" Changing a worn trigger with an imported trigger could put you into a federal prison." Good thing I do not need imported triggers. There is very little I can't either repair or make.
