Could she win? Is this more along the way of the Hollywoodization of politics? Would you vote for her?

They are allowed, just like anyone.

So they had a job that made them well known, doesn't bother me, they still have to play the politics no matter what they did before.

I find it funny when people claim they want term limits because they don't want seasoned people in there that no how to play the game yet when someone runs who has no experience they claim they aren't qualified because they have no experience.

You can't have it both ways.

Cynthia Nixon seems like a nice lady. She's progressive and she has a list of promises to give New Yorkers. She also hasn't been corrupted yet like Andrew Cuomo.

She could shake things up and get something done before she becomes heavily corrupted by that political position.

I would vote for her, and I can too because I'm a Democrat in New York.

I don't agree with all of her positions but if I want a nice state I've got to vote for the far left. Then everything gets better.

As a New Yorker, if the opportunity actually does present itself, I will vote for her as well.

I don't see the problem for New York

Hillary despite having a history of political activism — has never run for or held office.
And she waltzed into the Senate from New York where she lived . . . .

    It's the New York way.

In California it is Bay Area Dynasties running both parties.
That's how the north keeps running the more populous south.

IMO, they might be less corruptable if not lawyers, or politicians groomed by the party to maintain the corruption. I say elect plumbers, and other people who have worked for their living. Elect school teachers. Elect small business owners. Elect people who are from the People that they are gonna represent in DC. At least you would get people with basic common sense and less likely to be bribed and bought by our elites.

The way we have been doing it sure as hell is not working, if by working you mean the majority is being represented in DC. As evidenced by Princeton and Northwestern in a joint study, using congressional record over a few decades.

Crank must be fine with getting zero representation in DC. She wants more of it. Apparently.

Well, I think the real issue is whether or not New Yorkers want to turn the state into a sanctuary state.

As for myself, that's the key issue I don't agree with Cynthia Nixon on. We need migrant workers in New York, but I don't think we should shield the criminal element from deportation.

Andrew Cuomo was once married to a Kennedy. Now New York’s governor finds himself running against a Nixon.

The Nixon challenging Mr. Cuomo in the Democratic primary is Cynthia Nixon of “Sex and the City” fame. As an actress she played the no-nonsense Miranda. As a candidate, her progressivism recalls that of Sen. Bernie Sanders —and is destined for the same outcome.

“I voted for Andrew Cuomo because I believed that he was a real Democrat,” Ms. Nixon said in her first speech after announcing her candidacy. “But since taking office, he has shown us his true colors.”

With a nice Trumpian flourish she added, “If Washington is a swamp, then Albany is a cesspool.”

Just as Mr. Sanders questioned Hillary Clinton’s character during the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries, Ms. Nixon is targeting Mr. Cuomo’s. “In the corruption Olympics that is Albany,” she says, “I think Andrew Cuomo is winning himself some gold medals.”

Ms. Nixon has even come out against New York tax subsidies that benefited her own “Sex and the City” movies. The results, she rightly says, just aren’t worth it.

So why write her off? The answer in good part has to do with the structure of New York’s politics, which Mr. Cuomo understands and she does not. As much as Ms. Nixon may believe she is leading a Bernie-like populist insurgency for the soul of the Democratic Party, the unions that are the real power in New York may see her candidacy as a good way of keeping the governor in line.

At the center of this dynamic is the Working Families Party. Founded by a coalition of labor unions and activists from groups such as Acorn (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) the WFP is the same party America’s self-styled progressive in chief, Bill de Blasio, used to get himself elected mayor of New York City.

Here’s what gives the party its real power: New York is one of the few states where minor parties are allowed to cross-endorse candidates who are also running on other parties’ lines. This gives marginal political parties something valuable to trade.

Notwithstanding their competition for the Democratic nomination, both Mr. Cuomo and Ms. Nixon want the WFP’s ballot line as well. In a Monday editorial, the New York Post rightly noted that “if the WFP truly is a party of principles, it shouldn’t hesitate on endorsing Nixon.” She is, after all, the progressive in this race. And the WFP ballot line would be crucial if she hopes to run against Mr. Cuomo in November even if she ends up losing the Democratic primary.

I got an email from Cynthia Nixon's campaign that they want to legalize weed. I don't support that at all, I'm anti-drug, but some members of the Democrat party want marijuana legalized... it keeps coming up as an issue.

And if it doesn't get better, it ends up being someone elses fault years later ,,, after the lefties duck and hide:

*CUOMO ANNOUNCES ACTION TO PROVIDE $2.4 TRILLION IN MORTGAGES FOR
AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR 28.1 MILLION FAMILIES*

See full chart of higher goals by metropolitan area
    <http://archives.hud.gov/news/1999/pr99131cht.pdf>

WASHINGTON - Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo today
announced a policy to require the nation's two largest housing finance
companies to buy $2.4 trillion in mortgages over the next 10 years to
provide affordable housing for about 28.1 million low- and
    moderate-income families.

Cuomo said the historic action by HUD raises the required percentage of
mortgage loans for low- and moderate-income families that finance
companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac must buy from the current 42
percent of their total purchases to a new high of 50 percent - a 19
percent increase - in the year 2001. The percentage will first increase
    to 48 percent in 2000.

Point: Cuomo put millions of minimum wage earners into 5 Year ARMs, regardless of whether they could afford the payments after the interest rates reset 5 years after the loans were originated. Many of the loans were securitized by Fannie & Freddie. Since Fannie and Freddie has the implied backing of the Federal Government, the credit rating agencies gave those toxic securities AAA rating. In 2007, Democrats took over Congress and raised the minimum wage by 40% in 3 steps, July 24, 2007, July 24, 2008, and July 24, 2009, throwing many of those lucky home owners out of work and into foreclosure.

All that was left were the lies by Democrats, lies backed up by lying Fake Newsters.

Fannie and Freddie were on shaky ground in 1997 when the GAO was asked to study their regulator, OFHEO. There were hearings about fixing the problems faced by Fannie and Freddie from 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 ,,,, yes, even while Cuomo commanded them to create demand for mortgages that were destined to default.

Adding insult to injury, the housing bubble cause a shortage in drywall. Lo and behold, with China given most favored nation status, builders filled in domestic shortages by importing Chinese drywall. Chinese drywall had significant quantities of oxides of nitrogen and sulfur. When installed in hot, humid climates, a swill of nitric acid and sulfuric acid began eating away at the proud homeowners and the wires and pipes in the walls. People like new homeowners in Lee County, FL walked away from homes they bought with 5% down. Look 'er up. I know Lee County maintained a list of affected and remediated houses. The reason I mention Lee County is because I was looking to move to Florida, looked there, wondered why houses were so affordable and found out. That discovery and others like sinkholes, and homes in which dead people went undiscovered for long periods of time convinced me that my Ohio home is as close to paradise and I need.

Well, that's more than Hillary will do. She endorsed the MAN instead of the woman. Wow! Can we say HYPOCRITE? According to her, shouldn't women support women?
