My dog was attacked today in my own yard by a german shepherd. It was caught on video by my security system. Just click on the image to bring up the video. Keep an eye on that little black dot out in the sun about halfway between the pine tree trunk on the right and the shrubs on the left. The dog owner is riding by on his 4 wheeler. The SOB saw it happen and didn't even slow down! Had he stopped to check on my dog, I wouldn't have called animal control on his ass. But just riding by, yelling "he won't hurt her" after her dog just ran my dog over like a freight train....(*)(*)(*)(*) him. Next time I'll shoot his (*)(*)(*)(*)ing dog.

I called animal control on him, as well as the local sheriff. They went down the road and confiscated his dog and made them pay a 25 dollar fine to get it back. If it happens again, the fine doubles. If he does this again, I'm shooting him dead and the owner can come get the carcass. What's funny is the guy lied and said that my dog was in the street. The cop said "No she wasn't, I saw the video." The dog owner then said, "Ok fine, take the dog." Not only did the guy not stop when his dog attacked mine, he lied about it later. I would have NO qualms shooting this dog. The only reason he stopped is because I happened to be outside just outside of camera view and started hollering and took off running after the dog.

    What an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*).
$25 dollars? In California, they will hold the dog for ransom until you go to B of A and take out a loan! Kidding!
I sympathize with you. I can't walk my dog around here because of idiots with pit bulls off leashes.

Looks like he started chasing your pup after your little guy tried to run away. Doesn't look like he wanted to hurt him. Probably just instincts kicking in. However its pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ty of the owners to not stop. Do your dogs know each other? If the dogs are running round unleashed its probably a good idea you guys let them get to know each other.

I hope your dog survives this terrible attack. Does your vet think it will make it?

Oh yes, she actually survived unscathed. Scared like hell but otherwise ok. And get this, he just rode by again on his 4 wheeler and when I waved, the old man stuck the bird at me. Well, now I'm going after his ass for the vet bills. I was going to just kind of let things go but (*)(*)(*)(*) this. Stick the bird at me after YOUR dog attacks mine? You will regret screwing with me.

No, watch the video again. That dog comes in from the left and mine is sitting completely still. That other dog is in a full sprint and Lucy is motionless. She only takes off running when that other dog gets very close. She didn't provoke this attack at all. She was sitting in the yard, minding her own business.

my border collie was the victim of an unprovoked attack...leased and laying at my daughters feet a leashed rottweiler-X dragged professional dog trainer 20 ft and tore into my dog...two adults couldn't get it off of my dog only my breaking a couple of it's ribs with my foot ended the attack...cost a $1000 and surgery to repair the damage...I don't understand the need for people to own dangerous breeds like rotties and pits...

Just an update: I got a letter from a lawyer 3 days after sending the defendant a demand letter telling him to pay me. It said he wasn't responsible and that he wasn't paying. I filed suit on Thursday March 20th with the local justice of the peace. The next day the guy paid in full without going to trial. I got my money. He told the justice of the peace that the case had no merit because my dog had no visible injuries. When I was a kid, I threw a baseball very hard at a cat and hit it. It had no visible injuries either. 2 days later it was dead in my grandma's driveway.

We know that had Lucy died from this attack 4 days later and I hadn't taken her to the vet, the defendant would have said that this death had nothing to do with the dog attack 4 days earlier since I didn't take her to the vet. Why do people think I'm a pushover?

Killing the dog because of his owners actions or inaction would be a (*)(*)(*)(*)head thing to do.

Yes, it would be. But killing their dog because it comes back in my yard is just fine. Someone last night did just that, shot the neighbors dog after it killed a chicken. They said on the news, according to Louisiana law, a property owner can protect their animals with deadly force. No charges filed.

Dogs typically don't attack other dogs in that kind of situation unless they have been trained to do so. I remember taking care of a couple of boxers for friends. One attacked the other and killed it for no reason. I could not stop him. Found out they were 'rescue' dogs that were trained to fight. We put down the killer.
