    Trump and the right-wing media are undermining public trust in the media, the FBI, the CIA and the DOJ as a political ploy, without a care that they are doing lasting damage to our democracy in the process. Every day Fox brings on more hacks to demand that the FBI needs to be "cleaned out".

    They are undermining their own credibility. That's what Mr. Cameron cannot comprehend. He's asking us to give them a blank check because they are news organizations lol. That this is even an idea is itself proof that there's been corruption within the media brass, 5-10 years ago 'trust us' wouldn't need to be asked, because they actually properly engaged in their work.

    No reputable news organization would have released the Dossier, or reported on its existence. No news organization would attempt much less get caught helping out a political candidate(Hillary Clinton.)

    No one's being rounded up in concentration camps, no one is being silenced. We just demand accountability in our press. And from our intelligence community, when they make the most brazen charge in the 21st century(Russian Collusion), we need more than 'high confidence' or 'probability'. We need irrefutable evidence lol.

    The people who call the media “fake news” for getting something wrong 20% of the time also believe trump to be “genuine” despite lying 80% of the time.

    “Fake news” has been used by trump to attack any news he doesn’t like. He doesn’t attempt to verify first. If you don’t see how dangerous that is, it’s your head that’s in the ass.

    Great gambit.

    Get people to focus on an opinion of Trump regarding fake news instead of the actual fake news Trump is trying to put in view.

    Makes it easier to translate hate of Trump into dismissal of actual fake news by giving bigots a lazy path to satisfying their confirmation bias.

    From a population control standpoint this is pretty clever.

    What this allows is for liberals to avoid putting the world in of both a) understanding how to recognize fake news and media lies, and b) keep them in memory so the sheer frequency can be acknowledge as pattern not accident.

    After all, liberals love to consider themselves "informed" and "educated" but since neither are true there must be some precursor to support the delusion.

    Scratching off the need to absorb the huge compilation of fake news and replacing it with "Trump is bad" will be very effective.

    Here's the problem.. in spite of Trump's attacks on the FBI and ALL intelligence agencies American confidence in those agencies remains quite high.. That does not include the hard right evangelicals.

    No.. a study or poll has recently been conducted.. Americans on both sides of the aisle still have a high level of confidence in these institutions in spite of Trump's sycophants and the crazed Evangelicals.. Morality does enter the picture....
