as far as Cheaney's vague statement, i'm not even sure why you post it and you take it out of context. Dick Cheaney believed it was Bin Laden, end of story. Atta was proven to be a member of Al Queda.. now did he act at the direct orders of Bin Laden or just belonged to his group and followed him? Who knows, but the evidence is clear that Atta and the rest were Al Queda and tons of evidence supports this. Also, why didn't Bin Laden ever deny it and in fact publicly stated he had advanced knowledge and commended Atta on what he did? I guess Bin Laden was a member of the CIA and just said what CIA told him? sure..

I have yet to read or listen to a sane motive for a government conspiracy.

For all of this to have taken place, the press, airlines, Bush Administration, CIA, FBI, local police and fire fighters must have been involved; hundreds of people. I can't even fathom the idea of so many Americans wanting to bring down a US landmark like the Twin Towers, in the heart of the US' financial center and kill 3,000 Americans. I don't believe that all of these agencies together would've been able to cover up even 1/10 of such a massive conspiracy.

and for what? To eventually get a pass to invade Iraq?? Why wouldn't Bush just make up the WMD connection from the get go or even blame Saddam for 09/11?
