Is it because of that shot lion named Cecil? How long people are going to be mad about it? Thousands of wild animals get killed every day, millions of domestic animals get slaughtered every hour and for some reason that lion drove liberals crazy. Why is he so important? And now Delta bans trophy shipment. Why didn't they do that before if they care about it so much? Maybe because they don't care about the animals in fact but only want to get some fame?

    Want to have a trophy?

Stop manifesting everything "good" as things you cannot obtain.

We all want the grass on the other side of the fence. We want what we don't have. Many of us have what is right in front of us.

Pay attention to YOUR FAMILY, stop bragging about the rare items you have obtained.

Art and precious goods can't be compared to basic tools. Different roles and needs/wants are being fullfilled.

I am no liberal but I look at things this way, If animals are hunted they should only be hunted for food and not as trophies. If we can kill a lion for a trophy then why is it against the law to hunt humans for trophies? Wow, congrats you killed a lion from the safety of 100 yards, feel proud and now you are going to shame that lion by mounting it's head on a wall or creating a rug to walk all over.

Animals should only be used for sustenance purposes, anything beyond that is unethical in my point of view. Maybe they should make it more fun though and allow poachers and trophy hunters to be hunted. Now that would level the playing field :chainsaw: poacher on rye coming right up!!!!!

Meh. Non-issue as far as 'liberals' go.

I've hunted for most of my life and have met several 'trophy hunters'.

Without exception, they were the most self-entitled, self-absorbed and self-congratulatory (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s I've ever had the misfortune to meet.

Many of the species included in the ban are endangered or threatened and deserve protection, not exploitation.

If you're not going to eat it, don't effing shoot it. Period. Full stop.

Come to think of it, if this ban has the effect of inconveniencing/pissing off/shutting down these trophy hunters I've met, then that's just frosting on the damned cake.

I am supportive of conservation parks which permit hunting of endangered species for a fee. This way they have a financial incentive to keep numbers up. Most charge $100,000US or more. This has worked in Zimbabwe in stark contrast to neighboring countries without such programs.

The people buying these hunts aren't concerned if DHL won't ship their trophies. They will buy a yacht and ship it back themselves.

...from what I see - maybe we need more attention to people who ilellegally trade goods obtained by poachers, rather than to old dustry trophies made in the past.

    I disagree.

Trophy hunting brings large amounts of funding into impoverished nations.

    It keeps populations in check.

Most of the meat is usually donated anyways to surrounding inhabitants. This is usually left to the guides discretion.

What exactly is wrong with any of the things I have posted above?

    S. Africa Proposes Law to Legalize Some Trade in Rhino Horn
March 10, 2017 — South Africa’s parliament could soon consider a new law to allow for limited trade and export of rhino horn for personal purposes. The government proposed the draft legislation earlier this year and an initial 30-day period for public comment wraps up today. The bill has support but has angered animal rights groups.

Perhaps we could cage these trophy-hunting morons and see how they fare against a lion. I'd pay good money to watch that. Then there are the cretins who modify their pets to suit their lifestyle; de-clawing cats so they can't groom, scratch themselves or defend themselves, de-barking dogs in case the neighbours get upset, wiring the ears of dogs (mainly Dobermann in America it appears), to make them look 'fierce'. These 'people' seriously need an education. If you value your precious furniture over an animal you don't deserve to keep pets.

Yes, there's plenty wrong with it; it's pointless and only for sad, shallow and insecure jerks. But if killing animals for fun gets you off, be my guest.

I do not have a problem with this, I am a lifetime hunter but have never hunted for sport or a trophy. I don't have deer heads on the wall... I hunt for food and charity. With one tank of gas and three bullets, I secured well over 150 lbs of venison and hog meat, as well as donated almost a hundred lbs to feed the homeless.

Last male northern white rhino dies. There are still about 18,000 Southern white rhinos left.
