free paycheck ---- benefits the person demanding the free paycheck
"free wall" ---- benefits the entire country

Reparations. Walls paid for by Mexico. Just about anything.

 

I agree, yet I also think some of their more moderate proposals like investing in African-American communities because we all know that not everyone has the same opportunities in this country. Investing in all poor suffering communities would be best, but that’s still going to be mostly A-A one’s.

True reparations is just using racism as a bandaid for racism, and the original racists would simply devise a plan to distribute all of them back into wealthy white hands in no time anyway.

Another stupid idea from the usual suspects. What do you do with someone like Obama, who's mother's side were slave-owners, and who's black father's side weren't slaves at all? The only involvement Obama's African ancestors may have had with slavery was on the business end.

Nothing is free. Not the wall, not a lunch, Not a paycheck. Somebody winds up writing a check. That was the exact point I was making. That's why I brought up the wall, another poster who supported the wall and presumably Mexico paying for it, wants something for nothing, at another's expense. I don't want the wall, but I don't want a free lunch either. Or paycheck. But thats just me.

 

Your logic is flawed. The military isn't free, infrastructure isn't free, law enforcement isn't free, border security isn't free ---- but these things are for the greater good. Handing out "free lunches" and "free paychecks" directly benefits the recipient only and is not for the greater good. It's the difference between a selfish "me me me" mentality and the mentality of someone who is looking out for the good of the country.

You simply cannot equate money being spent on national security issues (like "the wall") with someone feeling entitled to a "free lunch".

 

Well, now hold on. Your correct in regards to the examples you out lined.
We all pony up for these things of course. But I most certainly can and will equate the wall with a free lunch. For a couple reasons, starting with the fact that they are only free to those receiving them. Importance is in the mind of the recipient. Not necessarily the provider. I provide to those I don't care about, to calm those I do care about. Family can be a pain in the dick that way. But the real point is that we signed on for Mexico to pay for our wall, even if we got to strong arm them to do it. No amount of justification or rationalization changes that. And there ya go.

I was referring to African blacks who were involved in the slave trade. US blacks who owned slaves would complicate the whole reparations thing.

 

that aint why i voted for 'em... and the new trade deals with mexico, is defacto mexico payin for it... in the end, mexico amongst other countries, will be payin for a lot of our things, indirectly, because the monies end up in the treasury to be dispursed through the budget, including a wall and border security... so ya see, he didn't lie , so stop the whining...
