A nation's economy has nothing to do with race nor ethnicity, and Europe is not all white.

Doesn't matter. We also have something these Euroweenie countries don't have. A military. They depend on our military to defend them. This is why they can enact their welfare nannystates.

This is why we cannot. I don't want government run medicine and I sure don't want my taxes anywhere near the 50% range.

They are telling us what they will do and we still vote for them. There is no force involved.

Lots of presidents tell us what they’ll do and then can’t do it because of what is known as the Senate and House. Again, there is a reason the founding fathers set up our govt the way they did...checks and balances. We should all be grateful to them.

Oh I am very aware of that. I am also very aware of the demographics regarding those on the dole in Europe and that is why I know socialism is doomed in Europe.... absolutely doomed.

For example, in Sweden, there are more foreign born Muslims on welfare than the combined indigenous population. They literally imported a welfare class of people who contribute nothing to the economy, live off the labor of the indigenous people while voting against their interests and attack/subvert their culture. Sweden will transition into a low trust country in few decades (just as America has done in the past few decades). You can have socialism that works or you can have diversity, you can't have both.

In fifty years, the only countries people will be pointing to as models for the rest of the world will be in Asia and possibly Eastern Europe (where they are still religiously defending their indigenous populations/culture).

The left now supports WELFARE IMMIGRATION. That is suicidal.

My point was for another user who claimed that comparing us to those European countries and Canada was a false comparison because their populations are all white.

Are they a "welfare class" by their own choice? Or is Sweden slow to accept and employ them?

Fifty years? I can envision what occurred after 1932 election and an extended run, but the Republican Party and or a traditional Conservative party will evolve before fifty years pass to provide competition.

The Party has lost their way, is bereft of ideas, and totally insipid but come on they’ll eventually find their place back in our Liberal philosophic tradition.

All that’s likely to happen this cycle is a repudiation of Trumpism from sheer exhaustion by the electorate. Then they’re find D’s are not as extreme as the nut jobs pretending to conservatives told them.

With the lunatic fringe sidelined we’ll move this country forward. Good for the country, good for it’s citizens, but bad for our loons.

You mean plans for clean energy , healthcare, infrastructure, having 100% control to move America forward with those plans wouldn’t be do bad. Republicans happen to fear real solutions.

I think dems with integrity don't actually want 100% control of the government. They want to balance their agenda with the aspects of the Republicans' that actually benefit the country. The problem is that the GOP has ceded its platform to Trump, who is only out for himself. If Rs could just get right and break way from the narcissist, social-left/fiscal-right folks like myself would be able to vote for them again.

What you have described is voters rejecting the party of Trumpery due to its utter corruption, incompetence, and detachment from reality, instead choosing Dems by default. Were that to happen my prediction is a new GOP would emerge from the Party of Trump that is more reality based and more in touch with the desires of reality based people with traditional conservative views.

It is a mistake to believe the fringe is a minor side bar rather than becoming mainstream. For evidence we have the East and West coasts, Portland and Vancouver. That behavior is no longer fringe and Democrats will not be able to ignore their demands if they do take control of our political future. I grew up in the '50s and find it hard to believe I'm hearing what I'm hearing from the left and even more that it is finding broader acceptance every day. It isn't just crazy old Bernie yelling at the clouds, the damned clouds are listening and that's what's crazy.
