I have no desire to disabuse you of the notion that Bell was the incumbent.

What are you going to do when Louisiana votes for Trump in 2020 like they did in 2016?

Nothing. I never said or implied that Trump will lose Lousiana. If the margin of victory is small, then Trump will lose the presidential race.

The Republican won the Secretary of State seat with more votes than did John Bel Edwards did for the governorship...

And just like Kentucky, the Republican won the down ballot seat in Louisiana with more votes than the Democratic governor...

Sounds like the main diff between him and the republican was a Trump endorsement lol
Sad! I hope senate republicans are noticing. He can’t save you, so you may be better without him.

The Democrat is anti-abortion and pro-gun.

Many Southerners still prefer to vote for conservative Democrats.

But if a Dem says they're pro-abortion and for open borders, they lose in a landslide. That's certain death.

As I said to @MolonLabe2009 (who subsequently edited half the post in his response),

Democrats have a big enough tent to include a diver set of opinions and beliefs.

The Republican tent is barely large enough for one fat orange *******.

I just saw that Louisiana legislature is a Republican super-majority.

Obviously not big enough to include Tulsi Gabbard.
It was big enough to steal away those Democrats and Independents in states like Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

I doubt it. Republicans once said Democrats would be wearing their opposition to war like an iron chain, now that Democrats are war hawks the past is largely forgotten and nobody really brings it up.

I don't see why the same wouldn't apply to Republicans.

Yea. Louisiana and Kentucky are red states. Really red states. And yet a Democrat won the governorship in both States despite Trump showing up to personally demand and beg voters to support the Republican governor.

That is now a total of eight governorships that Democrats have flipped since Trump took office - and that's not counting the governorship in Louisiana because the incumbent Democrat took office in 2015.

The reason that Trump's candidate lost in Louisiana is precisely the same issue we have seen time, and time again during Trump's presidency. The Democrats are winning the urban and suburban votes by even larger margins (Edwards won 90% of the Orleans Parish [compared to 81% for Clinton] and 66% of East Baton Rogue Parish [compared to 52% for Hillary] and 57% in Jefferson Parish [compared to 41% for Clinton]) and because voters are energized and want to turn out to vote - especially the Black vote which increased dramatically during the run-off saturday and probably made the difference just like they made the difference in the Alabama Senate vote.

    More bovine excrement!

Plenty of Dems are personally pro-life while still supporting women's reproductive rights.

A MAJORITY of the nation is pro Universal Background Checks and that INCLUDES both Dems and Republicans.

So your BS is WRONG again!

Diverse? Oh, please ... a pro-life, pro-gun candidate would be DOA in the Democratic primaries.

Because of Obama, the Democrats lost nearly 1000 seats in 2010, losing 63 house seats, losing 6 senate seats, losing the majority of state legislatures, and losing the majority of governorships all in one midterm election.

As it stands now, the Democrats only control the House. Republicans still control the Senate, majority of state legislatures and majority of state governorships.

Heck, two weeks ago, Republicans flipped three seats in New Jersey. NEW JERSEY OF ALL PLACES.

Aw, did that make you feel better about the ~400 loses that Trump has suffered in 3 years?

Who damaged their party the most?

The one that caused their party to lose over a 1000 seats?

Or the one that caused their party to lose only 400 seats?

    Inquiring minds want to know.
