And this isn't a GOPher or trump voter saying this folks, but a democrat. And what this writer says is exactly what I said about the democrats, about Hillary, about trump, about trump voters and about the democratic party in general.. Since it is public record here on this forum, I also said trump would win, and for those reasons given by this feller here in the video being interviewed. This information is damning to the dem party, to the DNC, and to most of the democrats on this board, for truth, facts, are hard pills to swallow by Hillary voting democrats these days and even harder for MSM to swallow.

So, the question to democrats, why did you allow trump to be your President, when you should have known the working class would vote for the "change candidate"? Or is it that you were not astute enough in what was going on in this nation when it comes to the average American? And last question, are you in the upper middle class, the professional class? If you are, voting for Hillary is in your interest, but if you are not in the upper middle class, why in the hell would you support someone who would never represent you at all? This last question demands to be answered and yet, I am guessing that you Hillary voters who are not upper middle, will remain mum. And I cannot say that I blame you, no more than I blame her supporters, perhaps paid to be here, to flee like jack rabbits once your soothsaying predictions and prophesies proved to be so wrong about her not being able to lose.

I'm not a member of the working class, and I would have voted for Hillary (if I were American), so I'm not sure I fit your criteria ... but in answer to your question from an observational viewpoint .. I would suggest ideology is what prevented the majority of working class democrats from crossing over. Allegiance and all that.

Thomas Frank makes some good points, but the Democrats are used to constituencies that follow, rather than lead, and they don't envision a future where a constituency will just walk away. The white working class didn't walk away, they were given the boot by the Democrats in 2012 when they decided that they didn't need them for the re-election of Obama. They just gave them the boot too early. The demographics that will ensure permanent Democratic majority have not yet arrived, but the Dems thought that they had, which is why they figured they could run a stiff like Hillary, or anyone frankly, and they would still win.

    Soon, but not yet.

Also that interviewer is pretty ignorant. I hope she appreciates Frank's patience with her.
