What do you aim to accomplish by negating the representation of a large sector of the electorate, and what do you think the result will be?

    They are already "solidifying" it.
    In the illegal way.

And he is considered as the most moderate Democratic Senator.
What abot the more radical ones?

Guam and American Samoa too. We need a solid Democratic majority in the Senate forever.

The next step should be outlawing the Republican Party entirely. If they truly hate our system as much as they seem to maybe they should look into finding another country

I think it will accomplish the restoration of America as the world's great refuge, the "shining beacon of freedom" that we once were. The result will be the final concreting of this nation as the most powerful and prosperous human entity that has or will ever exist and the most pleasant country to live in on the Earth's surface.

As long as the issue of abortion hangs over everything that is not going to happen.

Don't worry. The Democrats will overreach and hurt themselves severely. They always have. Always do. And are in the process of doing it right now.

I'm not really worried. I've spent decades watching the parties replace each other over and over as they mess things up. I think we will be back to gridlock in 2022. This time the repubs will own the house and the dems will own the senate.

I am sorry that I find your meaning unclear. Please elaborate a little, thanks.

Our side is also going to be pressing for court reform. Expanding the circuit courts and supreme court in order to rebalance them.

I choose Door #3--the "The hell with that door!" There are good ideas on both sides.

Which is one more good reason we should pass the ERA, which recognized a woman's right to have an abortion as a fundamental human and Constitutional right.

Our uniqueness and major strength as a nation has always been that we welcome the refugee. We have a giant statue in our major harbor that explains it far better than I can. Without welcoming wrongdoers we are the principality of the second chance, the one place you can go when the place you're at turns against you for no reason. Above all, we offer liberty to the oppressed and freedom to the unfree, and in return, these people have made us great, indeed the premier among nations and truly the hegemon of the world, though we did not seek dominance and still don't. We are certainly not alone among nations in seeing our people as our major resource and always seeking more but we are the best at it.

The Equal Rights Amendment did not do that. And anyway its time has long since expired so any effort to pass it would have to start over.

You must work with what you have, the U.S. Constitution and legal system, or you intend to do away with it in favor of something else. If the latter, what can you say about where we go from here?

That is another thread, but yes ultimately I feel the constitution is outdated and in desperate needs of a rewrite.

You do know don't you that the founding fathers thought that one of the roles of the U.S. federal legislative branch was NOT to reflect the wishes of the majority of Americans directly but to insulate the passions of the moment from being turned into actual legislation.

You're wanting to do the opposite.
