I have not found this mentioned on PF so far, so here goes: Democrats staged an overnight sit-in in Congress to try to force a vote on gun control. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36598736 The sit-in ended at 02:30 on Thursday morning with Republicans refusing any vote on gun control. I think the democrats have done themselves no good in the US by staging this "stunt" but they have once again publicized American gun violence to the rest of the world.
As I looked at the whole bunch of them all I could think of was "What a bunch of sniveling crybaby's". That was a perfect example of the far left of the Democrat party and what it has been reduced too. I use to think Muslims were perhabs our greatest worry at the moment but now I know that Democrats are the greatest danger to our country. Be vigilent my fellow Americans your Constitution is under attack.
What was even the point of this? Did they actually think a Republican-controlled Congress was going to budge on this issue, of all issues? I disagree with gun control and think blaming guns is nothing more than scapegoating, but...the real stupidity here was this crazy idea that a sit-in was going to get them anywhere.
A communist who does not want to ban firearms? How are you going to resolve that contradiction? The only way communism has ever been able to take root in a nation is through subjugating the population, which means removing the peoples means of resistance.
Its all propaganda, the "progressives" cannot justify their gun ban proposals using facts so they resort to emotion and fear mongering. But one good thing was accomplished - it stopped Congress from doing anything. When Congress is in session, your wallet and your rights are in danger.
They did what any good government worker does when it comes time for vacation. Stop working the day before you leave.
That speech was in 1850 when the communists had no power but were rising in recognition. When tyrants are out of power, they advocate for all kinds of methods that will help in removing those currently in power. It does not matter if the tyrant flies under communism, socialism, fascism, religion, they all sound the same and will say whatever they need to in order to gain control. But once the communists gain control of the system and the people, then their tone changes completely. Their objective moves from eliminating those in power to consolidating and protecting themselves and their power. Even before the communists took control of Russia, in areas they controlled they tried to confiscate all the firearms including hunting rifles. They met stiff resistance because at that time hunting was a primary source for food, no hunting rifle meant possible starvation. The communists relented and allowed hunting rifles but gun confiscation was always on their minds. When Stalin implemented Collectivization (look it up, there is your subjugation of the people required to implement communism) starting in 1928, he also implemented severe gun confiscation due to the massive resistance to his Collectivization program. As World War 2 drew down, the communists again purged the Army and implemented massive gun confiscation. The world famous anti-communist Alexander Solzhenitsyn (look him up, read his works for an inside view of how communism works in real life) was one of the WW2 war heroes who was quickly sent off to "internal exile" in a gulag. Communism is one ideology which has a history of implementation. You can compare their words with their deeds and see that their words are hollow and their deeds are atrocious.
