    Dumb, dumb, dumb.

First of all, the left will be the first to tell us that anyone can get any gun at any time, Chicago, Detroit and Baltimore are proof of that.

Second, if someone buys a gun at Dick's, that person goes through a background check and the gun's owner is on record of owning it, isn't that what the left wants?

As we found out with booze and drugs, if it can't be had legally, it will still be had.

As long as they continue to sell golf balls and clubs.

They don't want to sell a gun that gets used to commit mass murder.

You say dumb. I say good for them! They aren't trying to stop anyone else from selling guns. They are just following their conscience instead of the almighty buck. And just because they can do something doesn't mean they should.

Obviously their decision isn't going to hurt them as much as the gun fanatics hoped.

I suppose Dick's is free to virtue signal and pander to gun haters if they want.

This should be good news to stores who do still sell guns.

    You're probably right.

Funny thing is that the demand will still be there, so you'll see more people going to places like Cabelas, and perhaps some new legit gun stores opening up. So at the end of the day they just lose revenue over a political stance... and to make it funnier... how many guns used in homicides do you think can be traced back to Dick's?

    Sounds like a GREAT Idea.

IF it prevents even ONE person from shooting up a building, it will be a great move.

Besides, anybody who wants a gun will still be able to get one.

Is Dick's the only place that sells guns?

    I must've missed that memo.

Do you see the contradiction in your post?

Plus I thought the left wanted to only sell guns to people who pass background checks.

I've never thought that Dicks had anything that wasn't overpriced anyway. However, it was handy at times to drop by and get some golf balls or ammo. After they chose to quit selling ARs, I said, "good for them, that's their choice". My choice was to not buy anything from them since and I haven't really missed it.

dicks always had a decent selection, a tad on the pricey side on some stuff.

    LGS are happy about this.

it doesnt impact me either way, I
usually only go there when I get stuck with a gift card, last time I bought some overpriced flip flops and a foam football

I will admit, they are dam good flip flops

Red Henning is never good for a business. Great job, alienate roughly a 3rd of your customers. Just make up the loss by jacking up, everything else and hope your remaining customers, wont notice.

I suspect they studied this issue in depth and believe their decision is in their self interest. Otherwise it’s highly unlikely they would have made it.

I’m definitely not a sporting goods retail expert or stockholder, so whatever.

I didn't know they were sports stores.

No more shopping there for me, what's the point of going to a sporting goods store that doesn't sell sporting goods?

Same here. As a side note Golf Galaxy is subsidiary of Dicks. I have not bought from either.

Could you imagine, in the old days, a sporting goods store that didn't sell rifles?

    Absurd!

So you admit Government banning things to make us "safer" does not work? Now you are seeing clearly.

Damn that Golf Galaxy. It’s unAmerican not to include an AR with every golf bag - do you have any idea how many golfers are killed by terrorists on the golf course each year?
