A disciple can be described as one who is dedicated to becoming an expert.

I have given both personal and expert testimony in court.

In a personal testimony, one must convey the information in the chronological order in which one experienced that to which they are testifying. Diverting from the chronological order can distort one's testimony.

In an expert testimony, one must convey the information in a logical order, not a chronological order. The chronological order in which the expert encountered the information is irrelevant in an expert testimony.

Often, when Christians are asked about their faith, they are being asked to give expert testimony, not personal testimony. Often, when Christians are asked, 'why they are left to believe what they are left to believe', they do not answer that question. Rather, they answer the question, 'how were you left to believe what you are left to believe?' Often, when asked for a logical explanation, people give a chronological recount, rather than a logical explanation.

A good disciple is able to recognize when people are asking for their personal testimony or their expert testimony. In other words, a good disciple is able to recognize when someone is asking about them or about God.

Not all expert testimonies are of equal value, even if they are of equal validity. I often testify as an expert. I am not chosen over the other experts because my information is more accurate than theirs. I am chosen because of how I convey that information. I am chosen because I never muddle my expert testimony with personal testimony.

People know when you're not answering their question, even if they can't diagram the error as I have above.

Among the most common expert testimonies that are asked of others is,
"Why do you believe in God?"

The biblical God is Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews and the God of the armies. I don't believe in him. I wouldn't worship him if he was real. I don't believe in the Arabian deity Allah nor any of the other gods people have cooked up over the ages. http://www.graveyardofthegods.org/deadgods/listofgods.html
