That was a sad event. It's too bad he didn't know what to do and what not to do when told 'you're under arrest'.

Didn't know you Colin were that tight ...

Here is something that's more exciting for you to do on Sunday, if you're not already in Church.

... and he has a Constitutional Right to protest a Myth, and there's nothing in The Constitution that say's I have to Pledge my Allegiance to Jack-****.

I hope you aren't saying that Kaepernick is better than Manning.

That's James Garner who had a mile long rap sheet and tragically died of a heart attack resisting arrest. A Grand Jury did not take action against the officers.

The rest of your post is nonsensical quackery. If you desire actual statistics on police interactions read the suggested book.

I'm saying Jay Cutler has a One Year $10 Million Dollar deal with the Miami Dolphins ... guess what Jay Cutler is doing on Sunday?

The same thing I'm doing, watching Football.

    Need I say anymore?

Sadly many have died to allow CK's grandstanding to perpetuate the urban myth he purports to publicize.

... and what's wrong with that?

Hell I had Relatives who died for Freedom and Civil Rights that they never got.

So Screw what people think, and if the have a problem with it, maybe they should log off the internet and go talk to CK face-2-face.

the above is irrelevant to me.

i think every American should respect the flag and Country but if this a_hole decids to be an ****** and show disrespect for the flag, he has the right to do so and protected by constitution. Is he an idiot? IMO, yes he is but he has all the right to be an idiot if he wants to.

    Couple of things though.

Colin's protests are disingenuous and based on misinformation, spread by liberal groups and MSM. For instance, do people know that more than twice as many white people are killed by cops than black people are killed by cops? Not many people know this, why? because the media only covered when a white cope killed a black man, not when a white person was killed, even though twice as many killed by cops are white. If this is not evidence of bias, i don't know what is.

Secondly, 99% of the shootings are justified. Very rarely and VERY RARELY, does a cop just shoot an unarmed man for no reason other than 'he's black'. Most of the time there is an altercation where the black man (or white man) decides to resist arrest, run from the cop, is armed and doesn't obey the cops demands etc... guess what, cops are humans too, they are afraid, they are not here to just stand and wait for something to happen to them.

Let's do a quick recap of the shootings covered by media. Mikey Brown? thuggish lad who decided to get violent towards cop, the SC incident? guy decided to run from cop. The Charlotte, NC incident? guy was asked to drop gun 14 times and refused to do so. The big guy that was brought down by cops via choke hold? refused to obey orders. Freddy guy who was put in a van? decided to fight the cops and resist arrest based on eye witness accounts. See the pattern? Now we can argue that cops need to be better trained in escalation and deescalation but cops know one thing - they can get killed very easily and it takes a split second. To expect cops to be robots and just stand there whilst disobedient, violent men decide to fight them, resist arrest, run, not obey commands is truly ridiculous. I have been stopped by cops about 4-5 times and i could've easily been shot if i had decided to be an ****** to them. Guess what? i always obeyed commands and never once tried to argue with them, i'm alive.

So based on the fact that twice as many police shooting victims are white and most of the time shootings are justified, what exactly is Colin protesting? it's based on a lot of misinformation and this is my first issue.

my second issue is that Colin and friends just want to focus on race, which IMO makes them racists against white people. For instance, everyone with half a brain knows that white cops and white people are the least of the problems blacks face, it's crime, lack of good schools and horrible parenting in inner cities. These things combine to create an environment where young black kids see few opportunities and then resort to crime, this is 100% the fault of blacks, not whites. Look at the crime in Chicago alone, thousands killed due to black on black crime, yet Colin and his racist friends do nothing? Why isn't Colin taking a knee to protest black on black crime and the lack of policing? lack of good schools in inner cities? WHY? There is no good explanation other than he's a racist, in disguise. People who ignore the real issues and just focus on race are people who are disingenuous and racists.

Lastly, wasn't this guy wearing Castro t-shirts? The guy is a racist idiot, this is my issue. If he were smarter and protested the bigger issues african americans faced then i would actually respect him more but i view him a race baiting idiot who just wants to focus on race, even when race is not the biggest problem blacks face today.

Maybe CK should explain exactly what he is protesting. It's all an urban myth. He could have a discussion with Heather MacDonald about police brutality. He could also explain his "pigs" socks to the widows of police officers killed because of his actions.

I understand that your knowledge of the encounter is one sided ... obviously you haven't read Beyond the Chokehold: The Path to Eric Garner’s Death.

    Excerpt:
    A Fatal Encounter

Most days Mr. Garner could be found around Bay Street. He played chess and checkers on stools near the curb, peeled off dollar bills for children when the ice cream truck came around and served as a kind of peacekeeper for the motley regulars who occasionally found themselves at odds, said friends and those who knew him from the neighborhood.

On July 17, Mr. Garner had just come from eating lunch with a 23-year-old friend, Ramsey Orta, when a scuffle broke out in front of them on Bay Street. One man accused another, known locally as Twin, of talking inappropriately with his daughter. The girl’s father punched Twin in the face; Mr. Garner shot up from the stoop. “You can’t keep doing this; there are kids out here,” Mr. Garner said, as he held the men apart, according to Ms. Allen.

The men went on their way. Soon after, Officers Damico and Pantaleo arrived.

For Officer Pantaleo, 30, who joined the department in 2006, it was not a typical call. He usually worked in a plainclothes unit focused on violent street crime.

But that afternoon, Lt. Christopher Bannon, driving by, had spotted a group that included Mr. Garner on the sidewalk. He called the precinct to tell officers to “get out there,” according to the former police official. Officer Pantaleo was ordered to go with Officer Damico, 26, an officer since 2010.

With Officer Pantaleo behind the wheel of an unmarked police car, the two officers, in shorts and T-shirts, circled twice, watching Mr. Garner. As they approached, many on the block recognized them as officers and believed they had come in response to the fight, witnesses said; that they moved to arrest Mr. Garner was a surprise.

As the two officers closed in on Mr. Garner, Mr. Orta began taking video that would total about 16 minutes and would be shown to the grand jury impaneled on Staten Island in September to hear evidence in the case against Officer Pantaleo.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Officer Damico told Mr. Garner, according to a transcript of the videos prepared by the Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau and reviewed by The Times.

See ... that's the point ... CK doesn't owe anyone an explanation nor is he required ... or isn't that what your Flag worshiping is all about?

Garner was a chronic offender and resisted arrest. He died as the result of a heart attack brought about in part from a heart condition, asthma, and obesity. There was no damage to his windpipe, nech bones, or trachea from the 15 second "choke hold".

Who cares. It has no place on the football field. These players by virtue of being "celebrities" have a large platform they can use to air their grievances, it doesn't have to happen on the field.
Protest on your own time, not when you're on the clock delivering a product.

Respect for the flag and what it stands for is not worshipping the flag. That's the point. CK disrespects what the flag stands for with no coherent explanation and refuses to discuss the reasons for his actions. That's dishonest.

HUMAN BEINGS come before Idol Worship ... if you don't respect the Individual First, why the hell should they show any respect for your symbols of respect?

If I Roll Up a Flag and started beating the living **** out you with it, would stand and salute me?

Human beings died for the concepts represented by the flag. The overwhelming majority respect that.
