I like both but feel that the Walking Dead has made the main characters the biggest part of the show while with Falling Skies it's the aliens
You know, I have that entire series on DVR, and have yet to watch it... And you're right that Walking Dead focuses on the main characters... It's more a show about human conflict with a zombie outbreak as the backdrop for additional conflict, than just a zombie show... I love it...
The Walking Dead is basically Lord of the Flies set in a zombie apocalypse... It deals with people thrown into a lawless and anarchic environment...the struggle is with moving towards civilization, the common good, united; vs. the will to power, Social Darwinism, live and let die, and then turn into a walker apparently.
I watched a few episodes of Falling Skies and didn't really like it much. I am obsessed with The Walking Dead though, I read the whole comic series, played through the video game, and have seen every episode thus far. lol I did start watching Jericho a little bit though, that show is pretty interesting to me. I never thought I'd be so into apocalyptic story lines, let alone zombies, but I really do enjoy them now.
I like "Falling Skies", I've seen every episode, but I love "The Walking Dead". I thought FS got better in its 2nd season, a little more character development & all.
I watch both, but I think Walking Dead is the superior show hands down. Falling Skies is a bit depressing. I find their situation just about hopeless. Oddly enough, I think the survivors have a better chance in the Walking Dead than Falling Skies.
Falling Skies for me. I found Walking Dead a bit too predictable. I haven't caught up with the second season of Falling Skies yet but the little I've seen looks to be a major change from the themes in season one. They're both extremely well produced though, very good television.
