Given you're a very authoritarian nation, you need more flowers in your hair.

isn't it interesting that he surrounds himself by the best people and he constantly has to fire him and get rid of this one or that one and stir up all kinds of s*** what a f****** great manager

Believe me Trump looks totally ridiculous to a lot of Republicans

Trump is accumulating a lot of border crisis egg on his face

But I don't really care. How many people did Obama kill? How many would Hillary kill? Let's be honest here: you're a murdering country that likes to whine a lot.

DHS was founded so if another Attorney General put up a wall like Janet Reno's wall that prevented from connecting the dots that would have prevented the 9/11 terrorist attack that by having everyone answering to one person, the dots can be connected in the future.

No we don't need a DHS, go back the way it was before and just don't allow liberals to be the Attorney General.

I would feel safer if the DHS were abolished. The IRS can go with them.

You obviously don't know what the DHS is.

It's not a new department, what it did was take many other departments and put them under one command structure.

The DHS was an organizational move primarily to increase communication between the departments.

Here are some of the departments:

    • United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.
    • U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
    • Federal Emergency Management Agency.
    • U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
    • Transportation Security Administration.
    • United States Coast Guard (during times of peace)
Now instead of each agency having their own command structure and own rules they are now governed by one set of policies provided by the DHS.

It makes response times to emergencies far more efficient.

To the OP, learn your politics before you criticize things.

Tell you what, as soon as the immigration crisis has been dealt with and is over, I'm all in favor of getting rid of it.

This is assuming we don't have a permanent Islamist presence.

Who's in charge of the DHS? I will say again even Republicans are extremely upset the Trump has totally put the DHS into turmoil. It is recognized as an unwanted hassle. I have been criticizing Trump since the day he came down the escalator. And he deserves every bit of it

Well well well the acting head of ICE is going to be gone on Friday

The acting head they didn't actually get it filled yet. I have never seen heads roll like this in any US government situation

Yeah I'd say this is a pretty massive shake-up

Trump is such a fantastic manager... NOT!

Mister President we just can't take them out and shoot them and bury them in a ditch. Hitler did that and look what it did for him

There are many federal departments we don’t need. Washington should do half of what it actually does.

Recall that Homeland Security, reminiscent of Vaterland in German, was a result of the Magnificent Deception of 911.

It is a hugely extravagant and bloated bureaucracy brought by a deception.

No, we don't need DHS, but Americans have become so conditioned to submitting to being felt-up and groped in the airline terminal that youngsters consider it part of life.

    Good question you ask!

non-government organizations are doing the most to take care of the migrants that are in need. An older gentleman involved in one of the nonprofit's was on TV yesterday saying we can do more. From what I'm learning El Paso is a City full of good hearts trying to help those people . that's my source I will tell you I recently heard an interview with the mayor of El Paso on national public radio other NGO Representatives also participated in the discussion. The show is 1A With Joshua Johnson. And incredibly informative show. Who declines interview with that show is just as telling as who does

if it wasn't for volunteers and ngos the situation at the border would be a hundred times worse. the ngos are getting money for return flights making sure people stay together. You know the kind of things the DHS should do .I think we're learning a valuable lesson that we have to find some way to manage immigration better. it can't be good that there's been a huge Spike of immigration I know it started with Obama but man it's spiked bad like recently in months .saying you're going to close the border is making everybody trying to cross it

As long as we stick with America First everybody's going to try to get in it. I just hate that people can't understand we live on the surface area of a globe . listen to the astronauts and tell them how their perspective is changed as soon as they get into orbit

threatening to close the border is the most idiotic dumb thing I've ever seen a president do. Our economy depends on daily traffic back and forth

DHS is ill equipped to handle immigration. Here's why. Immigration is not a security problem. It's an economic problem. Immigration should fall under a different department, the department of labor, or if it's the crisis you claim, it's own department. DHS is a vague collection of similar agencies put under one person. It's too much to manage. Any good corporation would have divested into smaller groups by now and put individuals in charge of each with actual like minded goals and wheelhouses.

Well golly, an anonymous poster on the internet would surely know how I behave in the airline terminal. Yikes!

I am not understanding why immigration could not be both and economic and a security issue. People crossing into a country without notifying that country is dangerous. Spies, terrorists, and criminals all harm a country thus making it a security problem.

How is it I’ve never been groped going through an airport yet somehow you do? Clearly it’s how you’re acting.

How little you know. The reason I'm groped is because I am endowed like John Holmes was!
