Older readers may remember an era when the media generally reported facts and wasn’t so crookedly biased. For Trump voters out there, or any American who just wants to work, support your family and live in peace I ask... do you like being lied to? Why fund people who hate you and everything you believe in and want to mislead you, all while insulting you to your face? The media was distorting polling numbers deliberately to keep Trump supporters from bothering to vote. Yes, the lying, propagandizing jackals in media did everything they could to get Hillary elected.

Everyone knew there was a secret Trump vote, or at least anyone with common sense. Guess what? When you spend a year calling half of the country nazis, racist, among other nasty names, there is going to be a secret vote.

Why tolerate this any longer? It is past time to kick the mainstream media to the curb. Now that the media has fallen short in stopping a Trump election, they have moved on to the next stage, which is to wreak havoc on the right by casting doubt on cabinet selections and associated appointments. This will continue for no less than the next 48 months.

Maybe watch a little longer because it is funny watching liberals (the professional victims) scream like wet cats but after that stop funding the jackals we call left wing, liberal media.

It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Trump does over the next four years. There's something to be said about not stifling free speech. At the same time there's a need to curb some of the problems a biased media inflicts on our citizens.

It will be interesting. Media was always on Obama's side, so nothing there. Media will be constantly against Trump as we have already seen the first week. He may honestly make many of these news outlets irrelevant if they don't watch out.

Other readers may remember a time when people weren't so gullible. The digital age has exploded with fake news sites everywhere and people read this BS and take as real news. There are all kinds of examples at this site alone, where fake news sites are linked to back up bogus stories. I think much of the crap comes from Facebook, a platform where fake news has grown in leaps & bounds.

It's harder to define "reputable media" these days but they are out there, doing their jobs. Even reputable media slips up every so often, usually when they do, they fess up to it.

Our media are left-slanted too - well with the possible exception of the Daily Mail [IMG], but the BBC particularly so. I've often wondered why that is. If I ever find out I'll get back to you!

You have to believe the MSM has been shaken by their not being able to sway the election towards Clinton. They used every weapon in their arsenal no matter how perverse or unfounded. Yet the American people made up their own minds and voted their own interests. I think this is what happens when voters have access to so many diverse sources of information on the Internet (like this forum).

My more pessimistic side says the MSM are now getting together and trying figure out what more they could have done to elect the first female president.

Please offer an example of this "reputable media" of which you speak. Because, for the life of me, I can't think of any. People here often say "please provide a link from a credible source". There are no credible sources, anymore.

I don't think I can satisfy your request because, as you've stated above, you don't think there is any "reputable media". In other words, those media organizations I suggest as "reputable" will most certainly not be reputable in your eyes so, why bother to play a stupid game.........FWIW a link is below but I know it will be meaningless to you.

This thread is a small monument to gullibility itself. Some people mindlessly repeat the same cliché, "the liberal media" or the "conservative media" to a point of ennui. At best, ranking a news source is rather subjective and suffers from cognitive and confirmation bias. As only six corporations own 90% of all the media outlets in the US, it's fair to call it the "corporate owned media" which comprises all of what is called the "Main Stream Media" or MSM.

In perusing through news, I avoid extremes on both ends, For example, on the right is Fox, WSJ, Drudge and Blaze. On the left is Huffington, Kos, Salon and the Atlantic. As I have found no singular "best" news site, I check stories out through multiple news sources like the AP, Reuters, BBC, CSpan, NPR, The Christian Science Monitor, ProPublica and Truthout. If I want real accuracy, (when possible) I will go directly to the city a news incident took place; local news...before the majors bastardize it. Especially online, forums for example, I believe nothing without a link, source or some kind of verification and even then, it's always best to verify a story via other sources.

Lastly, I make up my own mind. I don't need a pundit, commentator, talking head or so-called expert to explain news to me.

if you do not like the media, do not watch the media, I do not watch FOX or MSNBC cause they are too partisan for me

there was no Secret vote, Trump got less votes then McCain, Romney or Hillary.. just many people were not happy with either candidate, Trump lucked out that more republicans held their nose and voted in the states that mattered... simple as that

Actually Pax you are right, it's all media but CNN and MSNBC was terrible. When it wasn't beneficial they tried to avoid reporting it and if they did they skimmed over it or they spun it so badly they may as well be on the Clinton campaign team. And how you can justify that it is ok to put our national security at risk is a head scratcher.

"If you're watching, Madam Secretary, all three of us have brilliant ideas. I especially put myself in that group with Joan and David. We know how to do this. We'll get you in there."

I never said the government had a place in deciding what we watch. I did say the government should have a hand in journalists and media outlets who lie in order to hurt political parties and their candidates. Sanctions would be a nice start.
