Indeed, it's pretty bad to continue to subsidize idiots, until they start becoming more, and more normal.

I'm actually scratching my head wondering why more on this thread / forum, aren't concerned about such impacts?

Bi Polar disorder definitely leads to a lot of unfortunate suffering, why should this be supported?

Because it is highly correlated with creativity and high intelligence.

One study found that a person with a verbal IQ over 130 (I believe this was the number), was over ten times as likely to be bipolar than the average.

Another study found that 40% of writers suffer from mood disorders.

The overall relationship between bipolar and creativity is very well established.

In my family, for instance, artistic ability, exceptional verbal ability, and mood disorders go hand in hand.

My friend's bi polar, and definitely has a high verbal IQ, he used to write good poems, but then again so did I.

Well, a lot of the best, and brightest have had mental abnormalities.

Don't they think that bi polar disorder impacted Beethoven, Mozart, Mark Twain, and Edgar Allen Poe?

I know that two of those 4 had issues with their mood.

You should look into the link between mood disorders and creativity--they are pretty interesting.

    I'm not surprised at all.

When I was a teenager, and more depressed, I used to write a lot of stuff, including the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Now that I'm 30, and almost never depressed, I can't seem to write at all. LOL

Dopamine, and especially Acetylcholine increase creativity, and both of them antagonize (block) Serotonin which means it lowers Serotonin.

Low Serotonin typically leads to depression, suffering, and mood disorders etc.

Well, I initially only wanted to reward those with high IQ's, and low rates of criminality if they had kids with lower taxes, and discourage those with low IQ"s, and high rates of criminality if they have kids with higher taxes.

I didn't mention mental disorders until later.

But, I do think those with more severe mental disorders are unfit to raise children, and shouldn't have them, and I think it's rather unfair to pass on misfortunes.

But, I'm not as keen on that, as I am on the low IQ, and criminal having kids. (That definitely needs to be discouraged)

I'm well aware that many of the best, and brightest have had mental abnormalities, so I have more mixed feelings on that.

But, I still do happen to think Oxytocin seems to be very promising in Humanity, as it seems to have so many benefits.

    I'm not sure about "Creativity"
but it sure seems like intellectual knowledge is generally driven a lot by curiosity, those who are more curious about the World, will generally seek out the information more readily than those who are not.

With that said, most Humans don't seem to be very curious, they're generally sheep like, they do as societal norms tell them, and don't look outside the box, nor care much more than social cliques, and fitting in sociably.

I'm not sure what the difference which causes curious Humans, and ones who are not is to tell you the truth.

In much behavior I know much of the causes, but not when it comes to curiosity.

I think it's hilarious as this discussion gets deep, the Liberals are no where to be found, but they were found to bring up "Racism"

I"m sorry, but since you're going on so about it

Your artistic work doesn't really show lots of talent. You're technically competent in one type of work but barely adequate even there as your style is extremely derivative. That might be forgiven but your work totally lacks any real feeling. Your problem is best illustrated in the eyes of your people, which frighten one off rather than draw one in.

Sorry, but you're the one pushing a philosophy saying we should sterilize people who don't come up to our standards, and you're not coming up to mine in this area.

Yes, there is no doubt about the link.

Ha! I've heard it gets better with age, but I've seen no sign of it so far.

We agree on general principles, so our disagreements are of minor importance.

Oxytocin does seem promising, I'll admit.

The link to creativity is well documented, but I agree that curiosity is a major factor in what people accomplish.

Curiosity is measured, at least partially, by the Big 5 personality test. You can take some fairly reliable ones online.

I score high on openness to experience

    Low on conscientiousness

    Balanced on agreeableness

    Slightly high on extraversion

    Very high on neuroticism

    Not surprising.

It's really hard to engage them in a conversation that doesn't devolve into charges of racism or comments about racial inequality.

    Just give me the mantra.

    I know you want to.

What do you think about not subsidizing people to have kids they can't take care of? Is this okay, yes or no?

On a positive note, the ability to reproduce is the last to go.

I'm on the fence about eugenics but I am starting to agree with it in principle. We have tons and tons, mountains of people who are just white trash. I mean we need more people with high intelligence that looks like celebrities. The only thing that puts me off of having eugenics is that it was sometimes misused and that scares a lot of people.

I do not support eugenics; but at some point, we need to let natural selection kick in. Do we really want those who would otherwise kill their children breeding ?

You do realize Eugenics is at its core a process of the white elite basically "culling" poor uneducated whites along with all nonwhites?

I don't think many understand this.
