I do not get the opportunity to watch TV as often as I once did, but today was bored and alone. I just spent hours watching multiple channels feeling myself being swayed back and forth by the way the news was slanted....and found myself wondering how you all deal with the onslaught of political preachers. I wonder if we purposefully pick the channel that agrees with us, or if we think as we do because we fall for the bias.
Remember that "news commentary" is not the same as "news"; for news is facts while news commentary is opinions - which can easily become your opinions if you're mistaken enough to not check the facts for yourself. Your brain is bigger than your eyes and ears for a reason. To deny it purpose is to deny yourself purpose.
People seek for thruth since 9/11, but they will never find that in the mass (system financed/supported) media (politics and media are driven by ideology), some 'new' media (e.g Infowars and RT sounds like telling the truth (but all information is either fear mongering, deception or half truth) what they want to hear, so they are locked to these 'new' tv/radio stations and 'new' politicians. The media is there to spread ideology (all media is politically motivated/based/driven), to gain numbers of voters (this historical post 9/11 era is only about reaching abolute power to reach empires in the West and Middle East), by using the media (the spread of political propaganda), by using this global capitalistic system (gathering wealth in countless ways) 'The media' means; all media created over the past hundred years (news media, internet system media/news sites, movies, news papers, 'new' media, computer games, it has become very huge, the people only have webforums as this one at their disposal were they still can communicate freely (different information than you hear via the mass medias)
