I think he is describing the pretend president much too kindly

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich called the sitting president a "soulless coward" Monday.

Dave Zirin of The Nation reported the news, noting Popovich's comments were in regard to Donald Trump claiming former presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush failed to call the families of soldiers who had died.

According to Kevin Liptak of CNN, Trump said Monday he wrote letters to and planned on calling the families of four American soldiers who died in Niger in early October.

"Other presidents did not call, they would write letters, and some presidents didn't do anything," Trump said, per Liptak.

Zirin said "I have never heard this man so frustrated, so fed up, and so tense with anger than today" when discussing Popovich and shared the coach's quotes in full:

I did not understand this thread until I read the link. I'm normally reluctant to open links from unknown sources so I'm posting the letter from Popavic for those who won't open links to unknown sources:

I wonder where the "Americans died and Trump lied" bumper stickers will be.

Oh, wait, he is not Clinton, so his fans have no problem with this.

Case in point as to my previous post.

Oh, maybe we'l also see multiple congressional investigations and hearing lasting for years -- probably not. Because American troop's death are only politicized if it is a Democrat who can be slandered.

Note, I am not saying that Trump is personally responsible for those troops' death. Neither was Clinton. Yet, the right made a witch hunt out of this that arguably cost Clinton the election.

Sorry that Popovich finds Trump speaking the Truth to be so uncomfortable. We are talking about a simple difference in style here. Leave it to leftist to get all but hurt.

The truth? Trump himself already backtracked after being called out. I guess, however, using fallen soldiers for personal political gain and to spite past presidents is all of a sudden okay. Who would have thought.

So far there have been no 13 hour sieges of a US consulate where the president and his cabnet went to bed early and made no effort to save the Americans inside

If that happens under trump we can talk about it

The attempted coverup by obama and his flunkies added insult to injury

So, Trump lying about former presidents not writing letters to big himself up for political gain didn't add insult to injury?

Now, if he really was trying to do something good for those families, he would have sent those letters without bragging about it. He just can't help himself. And of course, you find nothing wrong with it.

Trump lied....again. Is anyone else as tired of his lies as I am?

The man is a disgrace to his office and to this country.

Popovich is right. Trump is indeed a soulless coward.

I am just pointing out the blatant hypocrisy that led to a years-long witch hunt against Clinton, while giving Trump a complete pass on his self-promoting behavior on the back of our troops.

Hillary was on the hotseat for not being candid and not taking any responibility for what happened on her watch

I hope the Bengazi affair was the last nail in her presidential coffin

But obama deserved to pay a political price too and never has

If the attack had happened in 2011 instead of 2012 romeny might be president today

What part of a difference im styles do you not understand? It's also a difference of possibilities. 3 or 4 every couple of months is one thing. Three or four a day quite something else.

leave it to you to get the story wrong. I heard the story morning he said past practice had been to write letters and that he was going to call them.

Only a Trump worshipper would be able to identify another worshipper.

Trump lied. And he lied using our servicemen as the subject of his lie. Interesting how you "patriots" yet again give Trump a pass on his attack on our military, and give Trump a pass for waiting over 2 weeks to make a statement about fallen soldiers.

    Popovich was spot on.

Trump said nothing bad about the fallen soldiers but he did dis obama

For a busy pro basketball coach to be up in arms about that looks like leftwing hero worship to me

"Soulless coward". That's a very accurate description.

If you call making up a false claim a matter of "styles", then I guess that's your excuse.

Trump was asked a direct question. He did what he frequently does. He made up a fake answer on the spot and tried to use his made up answer as yet another attack on his predecessor.

The fact that what he said was false was very quickly pointed out. Trump then did another one of his "style" moves. He tried to blame it on his staff, saying that the lie he made up was something "he was told".

We have numerous examples of how Trump has run his mouth and disgraced himself by trying to deflect questions about his own conduct by falsely attacking others.

This is a pattern with him.

Real men take responsibity. A real man would admit to having neglected talking about or to the US service families who lost loved ones, and pledged to rectify it.

But Trump is a soulless coward. So he deflects and makes up lies about other people to try and cover his own shortcomings.

And folks like you not only tolerate this behavior, you make excuses for it.

And folks like you insist that something is wrong when it isn't.
