"TRUMP CUTS FUNDING TO BATTLE GROUND STATES."
"Donald Trump Cancels TV Ads in Key States As Rival Joe Biden Dominates Airwaves"

    "
Donald Trump's campaign has halted television and radio advertising in three key states and reduced spending in four others in recent weeks.
The U.S. president has pulled a planned $17 million in Ohio, Iowa and New Hampshire, which he won in 2016, according to media-tracking company Advertising Analytics.
He also cut $11 million worth of ad time in Nevada, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan as lackluster fundraising left him unable to match a bullish spending spree by election rival Joe Biden.
As election day looms, both Trump and Biden are investing heavily in battleground state Florida, where polling shows the candidates are neck and neck. According to FiveThirtyEight's national polling average, Trump is behind Biden by 10.6 percentage points as of 11 October."

I've had a hard time convincing the Trump faithful that he is steadily tumbling downhill in the 2020 election but there seems to be a great deal of denial on their part.

Or he plans to campaign in person in those states every day so is focusing his money on other states where his presence doesn't add value.

Bloomberg is committing 100 million dollars to Biden's campaign in Florida so I don't think it will help.

I swear I haven't seen a single TV ad from Trump in 2 weeks here in Florida. And it's not like I watch TV every hour of every day. But there is no commercial break on any channel in which there is not at least one pro-Biden ad. So I can say that Trump ads in Florida are extremely scarce.

So if he's withdrawing from those states, where is he spending the money? Legal fees?

Bloomberg buying 31K felons the right to vote with essentially a quid pro quo is not a good look for the democrats. As for the $40M in TV ads, I am sure some people still watch TV ads, but I am guessing it is far fewer than Mike is hoping for. I personally DVR my shows and FF through all the ads.

    Trump won New Hampshire?

Seems like this op-ed is short on facts and making it up as she goes.

No doubt Biden is dominating the airwaves by a huge margin over Trump. I've noticed that for some time now. Whether or not that is translating into votes is hard to say.

Rasmussen had Trump down by 10 pts just 7 days ago. Today they have him down by only one point.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday, shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.
    https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/political_updates/prez_track_oct12

Supposedly, the RNC is focusing more on a ground game, registering more voters, and relying upon Trump in-person rallies. Not quite sure how that is going to work out either.

There's nothing I'd like to see more than for Trump to eke out a narrow victory, and for all the Dem mega-donors to have wasted a ton of money in the process.

That appears to be the strategy. His rallies build energy more than any lame televised canned traditional advertisement. Trump just finished a live rally in Florida a couple minutes ago. Across several YouTube channels, I counted about half a million viewers. Hard to get that many eyeballs on local television.

He'll be in Pennsylvania and Iowa again this week.

I also think he's just on a big push to make sure his supporters actually show up at the polls more than he's trying to pick up undecided voters. At the end of the day, elections all come down to turnout.

Some podcaster I was listening to last week said that 30% of people who attend Trump's rallies have never voted before. :cynic: Voter registration, then local word-of-mouth after an exciting live rally may go a long way more than a 30-second TV advertisement for $50,000 a pop. Can't register that person sitting on their couch in their underwear (or taking a potty break during the commercials). lol

I suspect Trump knows what he's doing.

    Exactly.

He long ago decided that he had zero chance to win and is planning on retaining power by taking it to Court.

The OP never said anything about Trump cutting ads to expand his ground game. The Trump campaign funds are depleted and can't keep up with Biden's and that's not a good sign.. I can tell there is a general disgust with Trump in all areas of political life. His unfavorables in 2020 are the worst in history and in 2016 Clinton's were almost as bad as his which was how he was able to scratch out a win in electoral votes. Biden is not rivaling Trump for most unfavorable candidate this year. It's not helping Trump that the economy is tumbling this year. But this blanket of disgust that surrounds Trump is even affecting the donor class.

    Trump deserted by big donors

    "Big donors abandon Trump

"U.S. President Donald Trump is struggling to get big donors from 2016 to invest in his 2020 campaign.
With just months until the election, BusinessInsider explained that the millionaires that helped bankroll Trump and continued to give in 2018 are nowhere to be found as the election nears.
“Just six of the top 38 donors to Trump-aligned super PACs over the last two cycles have donated to America First — the super PAC created to gather all the biggest donations to Trump’s 2020 campaign, Business Insider reported quoting The New York Times.
The donors are apparently hedging their bets, fearful that Trump doesn’t have a chance in 2020 and they’re redirecting their money to trying to hold onto the U.S. Senate, which is growing increasingly likely to turn Democratic.

There are a combination of reasons Trump will loose in 2020. But one of the factors will be the overall stench this president has generated month after month so the fact that he had a good economy under him a few months ago will be outweighed by the disgust factor.

The vast majority of the country has already made up its mind. Television ads are a waste of money right now. All they do is serve to piss people off who have to watch them.

I've never seen a pro-Biden ad. Or heard a pro-Biden talking point. Or heard anyone say anything pro-Biden.

What you meant was you saw an anti-Trump ad.

That might be why Trump has gained 10pts over the past 5 days. The more people see Biden's TV ads, the more they dislike him.

Hurling insults the Hallmark of the raging infant Trump. This infant is shrinking as the tantrums grow louder.

You said "Get over it our racist president is drowning." Do you have anything to back that up or are you showing yourself as an example of why forums have an "Ignore" feature?

What's so great about Rasmussen? It always shows Republicans winning.
    https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/08/politics/poll-of-the-week-trumps-favorite-pollster/index.html
"Rasmussen's final poll was the least accurate of any of the 32 polls. They had the Republicans ahead nationally by one point. Democrats are currently winning the national House vote by 8.6 points. That's an error of nearly 10 points."

Rasmussen was the most accurate pollster in the 2016 presidential election, and has consistently been one of the most accurate in presidential elections. That's what's great about Rasmussen.
