...And It's Not the One You Think. http://theweek.com/articles/613016/donald-trump-delegate-problem-not-think In the past month, my hope of seeing a brokered Republican convention has gone from being a dream scenario (that I only confided to one person on this forum) to being a rather safe bet. One of the hypotheses I entertained for why the Republican establishment seemed so determined to have a brokered convention was that they had ran their own election projections and discovered that not only would Trump get pummeled in the general election, but he would pull down the overwhelming majority of Republicans running at the state and local levels as well. I still believe that's very plausible, but this article lays out a much clearer explanation of how the RNC intends to pull it off: Hold on to your hats, boys and girls. I do believe we're in for a bumpy (Trumpy) ride.
i think these delegates have a problem and need a visit from some of the trump loyalist, just to make sure they vote the way the people wanted them too
Yeah, Trump's Brownshirts would take care of that little problem, amiright? They could call it Operation Hummingbird, or something along those lines, as they show their loyalty to the Great Orange Racoon.
Love how the libs keep saying 'Trump will get pummeled in the Presidential election.' What are they basing this fact off of? Have they not been watching the voting these past few months? Record voting has been going on.
What kind of "old fashion persuasion?" Are you talking about candy and flowers or a baseball bat? - - - Updated - - - Oh, yeah...43 percent of Republicans seem to be nuts about him.
I can only imagine if the same thing was done to Obama. I'm sure a few towns would be burned down in protest.... Maybe drag a trucker out of his rig and beat the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of him. Stuff like that...
A VERY interesting question. Who actually PICKS the convention delegates themselves? Seriously, now does that system work in each state?
In case the Republican National Congress won't respect the will of the electors [possible matter also in occasion of the election of the President, btw], the GOP would deny the democratic meaning of "primary elections", since they would be downgraded to "primary suggestions", that is to say the Republican electors, from that moment on, will vote to submit to the RNC a group of candidates [let's say the 3 most voted] within to chose the guy who will run for the Presidency. This was [and even without primary elections] the method of the Italian parties in the First Republic. We invented a definition: "partycracy" instead of democracy. It's a free choice for the GOP. Like it's a free choice for Trump to create a third party, generating the eternal division of the Right and giving the United States to the Democrats for the entire 21th century ...
That's what I have been noticing when crunching the numbers state by state. Even in blue states more people are showing up at the polls voting Republican and most of them for Trump. The only chance the Democrats have is by registering enough illegal aliens and non citizens to vote and getting them to the polls in November. It's the only chance they have.
LOL. Well Bernie had the right idea by getting 17 year olds to vote. In a decade or so the Democrats will be having toddlers registered.
after the first round anything goes video time 2:00 even a dark horse candidate like in 1880 convention https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_horse
If Trump doesn't get the 1,237 delegate votes needed to win the nomination, why shouldn't the RNC be free to enforce the rules that predate this primary process? Because he got the most votes in most primaries that had 8 or more candidates? I'm not sure it works that way. But I agree, if the RNC doesn't hand him the nomination, he will certainly take his golden ball and go home and possibly run as an independent. I think most of that decision will be based on the campaign finance rules. Trump isn't really "funding" his campaign; he's loaning the money to the campaign. That is a YUGE difference. I'm not sure he would be able to pull the same con as an independent candidate. He might, though, in which case, it's a sure bet that he forms his own party. - - - Updated - - - Thanks. I always liked that picture. Now, go lie down before you hurt yourself.
Lolz at lefties being kept up at night about Trump. They are right to worry. Soon he will be Mr. President.
LOL! It's the Trump Fantasy Boy!!
Trump Vs. Clinton would be a blood bath. Who do you trust least? Sky high negatives for both, my god.
They're literally stalking him. Some of the posters developed a pathological obsession. It's hilarious. Trump farts, they follow. Trump is the only one who actually has the path towards the nomination and yet they see it as a 'problem'. There is no problem. It's already an amazing achievement taking into consideration that the guy came out of nowhere and completely obliterated GOP establishment candidates in the process.
