    It's very possible to do. The 49 States of America could get by just fine without the SOTC.

    First, managing power lines is the responsibility of the private company named PG&E. It is a for-profit company.

    Second, almost none of these fire areas involved public forest lands.

    Finally, I live in the middle of northern CA in direct paths of these fires so my knowledge is just fine...
