Printfection is an awesome place for a PF store! IDW.Community allows folks trade activity points for Swag..Or Cash... Bad Idea IMO. Site_Stores build more community feel... And help cover Costs.

I used to own some sites. With donations and a store, server costs take care of themselves... provided there's enough interest. One of my sites hosted video, had a Vbulliten forum, and A/V chat... less than $250 a year.. to operate.
Chat can be fun and entertaining, but can also lead to problems with real life relationship issues if people are unprepared. Still...could be a good idea.
Pretty sure the average mentality here, is vastly greater than your general SocialDerp site, so any issues would likely be minimal. Debates could be live action feed... just think of the bulging neck veins!

There's usually the ability to have at least (on the lower software cost end), 2 rooms. With ad-ons or software upgrades or more expensive programs, you can have several set rooms, (per topic or use.. think, Music room, "Bar" room, Gen_Chat..) AND the ability through activity points, (rank) or VIP status (donor) or just if you feel like allowing the permission (general membership) to have users create their own rooms.
