While obviously just anecdotal evidence, I work in the manufacturing industry and I can say with 100% that industry is expanding from what I've seen. The company I work for, it's a small business of about 7 employees, almost went under around 2008-2009. We're now busier than ever. Our shop services two needs of our customers. The guys in the shop do CNC machining on contract parts from some of our customers. My boss, the president, and I design custom workholding fixtures. We service two types of customer's, and we're at the point were my boss turns down opportunities to quote because we're so busy, in both departments. If the economy is still going under in general, it's not being felt on the ground, at least in my industry.
