I'm guessing you missed the sarcasm? Have you ever heard "you did not build that" before?

The Dow Jones today is at record highs, so it's clear sailing for the stock market, right? Not necessarily. The stock market rally has hit record highs several times over the past year or so, but the major averages have soon faltered. That doesn't mean the major indexes can't take a breather after advancing for several weeks. But continuing to advance and holding above prior highs would be a clear sign that the stock market rally is part of a new or revived long-term bull market.

The chip sector is the clear winner in the current stock market rally. Software remains battered while retail and housing stocks are starting to slump after recent gains. If you're a stock picker, pay attention to the group and sector trends as well as the major indexes.

Obama told small (and larger) business, something like this...."Remember, if you have a successful business, you did not build that on your own"...very ironic, given he was, as recently, claiming credit for the economy, employment boom...etc

The fact remains, that if one is to give credit to the president for the gains in the stock market, Obama's record is actually more impressive than Trump's.

He also presided over the slowest economic recovery, if not in history, since the great depression. He also has the legacy of "food stamp President"...two dubious "honors".

Maybe. But the OP started this thread about stock market performance. And in that respect, Obama’s record is better than Trump’s.

It would be nice if the Obama haters could recognise that. Nice - but the hate is too strong.

    Stating facts is now "hate"?
Since we are comparing Presidents, my observations are perfectly valid.

The Bush/Cheney regime were responsible for the 2008 economic COLLAPSE!

By the time they left office millions of hardworking Americans were losing their jobs or about to lose them.

It's funny how no Trump supporter is posting about the GDP rate anymore, the more relevant attribute of the economy of the US. The current very early GDP estimate for the final quarter of the year is 1%.

Then so is trump. Every economic metric has remained on the exact same unchanging upward trend line since 2010.

Again, this claim requires that I abandon all critical thought in the name of cultish Trump worship. I'll stick with facts, thanks. Feel free to keep ignoring them. Anyone who has paid attention to the economy over the past decade or so knows you are wrong.

True, but don't expect facts to land. This was never about facts.

Trump rightly gets credit for his success.

According to the cult personality. Not according to basic logic. I'm glad you made your choice between the two. I've made mine too. Any analyst I work with who tried taking credit this way (we call it the rooster taking credit for the sunrise) would get fired.

That is only how politics work for those lacking critical thinking skills and intellectual honesty . . . for those who favor hero worship over logic. It happened with Obama worshippers, and now it is happening with the Trump cult.

I'm not sure what you have against basic intellectual honesty, but I'm going to keep mine. Feel free to sell your soul along with your mind. Mine isn't for sale. I still prefer the truth. If you don't see the appeal of the truth, I'll never be able to explain it to you.

Thank you President Trump. Time to get another new BMW and schedule a nice long golf trip. Looking forward to another 4 years in office and a steady booming economy.

Maybe take the wife back to Fiji and combine some golf with a romantic getaway..... Maybe so! :)

sure, i guess you never heard of the "sub prime mortgage lending crisis" Clinton decided everyone needed a home loan, even if their credit sucked out loud. It took some time for the chickens to return home to roost. Clinton left Bush a time bomb. Thank Bill. You are not fooling anyone with passing the buck (or LACK of bucks)

Another massive load of bovine excrement without any shred of credible substantiation.

The DEREGULATION of the Wall Street Casino was CONCEIVED and ENACTED by the Republican Congresses. They DUPED the rest of the nation and then placed the blame for their FISCAL MALFEASANCE on the Dems.

The GOP is a SUBSIDIARY of the Wall Street Casino.
