I do not like Barack Obam I do not like his health care scam. I do not like that sneaky crook, or how he lies and cooks the books. I do not like it when he steals, I do not like his secret deals. I do not like that metro man, I do not like his 'YES WE CAN.' I do not like his spending spree, does he not know that nothing's free? I do not like his smug replies, I do not like his constant lies. I do not like his kind of hope. I do not like it. Nope, nope, nope
I love Doctor Seuss. In high school, my senior paper was on the life of Seuss. "Oh the Places You'll Go" is one of my all time favorite books.
Sorry OP. But the good Dr. was a STAUNCH liberal and supporter of the new deal lol. He might have actually become a conservative, but in college he was thought to be a Jew and was discriminated against and denied entry by conservative social circles because of this (epic fail republicans epic fail). This is kind of ironic considering the OP's delusional sig. Here is an interesting bit: In 1948, after living and working in Hollywood for years, Geisel moved to La Jolla, California. It is said that when he went to register to vote in La Jolla, some Republican friends called him over to where they were registering voters, but Geisel said, "You, my friends, are over there, but I am going over here [to the Democratic registration]." Sorry con's. You missed out. And no, the "Horton Hears A Who" book was not about abortion. He even said so. It was about the plight of the Japanese after WW2.
Umm, if that's what you read into that, you've only typified your character. Obviously you are offended by the truth in the words, whether or not the delivery was in the same vein as one of your comrades. At least he was smart enough to leave his personal political views out of his art. Probably the reason most everyone still enjoys his work today. Unlike the outspoken buffoons of Hollywood who lose half their fan base by opening their mouths (Streisand, Penn, Glover, etc..)
He actually said the lorax was a warning about the effects of pollution and over industrialization. A lot of his work did have some sort of political meaning, but he made it so that it was easy to understand and entertaining. A few years ago I remember a California logging company actually made a counter lorax book that portrayed the trees as the bad guys lol.
