they did not say if you went into debt up to your eyeballs, the gov would pay your coverage for you.... personaly responsibility still plays a role

that said, I preferred the public option Obama wanted, not the individule mandate Congress gave us

the question now is, republicans are in control, will they write a new health care bill that is better.... or just b and moan about the current one?

dems planned to do more, but lost the votes and had to rush what they had through, I have no problems with republicans fixing healthcare, it's a work in progress.... get to work, fix it if it's broke, that is what we pay them for

Republicans will not bring up any plan. They haven't been able to agree on any real plan for years and nothing will change now that they run Congress. Their goal is going to be to destroy the ACA in such a way that it doesn't appear they did it and then run against the ACA in the next presidential election.

Ok, you want a substandard public option. Then let the Federal Government expand the Medicare program, raise your medicare taxes on your wage deductions to pay for it. But, allow other employees, individuals, families to opt-out and purchase their own private health insurance and receive a tax credit for doing so as they won't be costing the Gov. or Taxpayers anything. The PPACA is already impacting the care insurance companies will approve for payment. With a public option, it will get worse. Read the papers written by many of Obama's friends, especially economists, one of which determined that the Federal Government should not pay for costly medicines or surgery that may only extend the patients life minimally. If you read the paper, "throwing granny...." statement not so far from the truth.

Well, where did you think the money was going to come from to cover all those uninsured people?
