Wasn't Egypt one of obama's new democracies that he loved so much?

    Just like Libya.

    Where Benghazi is.

    When four Americans died.

And obama tried to blame it on a obscure video

Here if you are interested in Egypt read these two pieces of news from today

here we have all shops open all day and night so it is a good thing to close them at midnight

Here we can have anything delivered from a bottle of Limonade to a bag of cement to a light bulb to a fridge to anything else at time of the day or night.

I'm glad they are doing this because we should all be lookingat ways to save energy and fuel and the roads will be more empty also which is good

That's not what award-winning correspondent Sherine Tadros finds when she dares to risk sexual assault talking to Egyptians on the streets and she reckons the shops will soon be forced to close early not open later. Not that anyone worth their salt believes you anyway but you are insulting our intelligence with such posts.

Yes, poor folk desperately trying to eke out a living are willing to work for next to nothing at all hours of the day and night. Does it save energy? Those who can afford it will buy a generator and those who can't were already saving what they could. Having lots of small generators running is a huge waste of energy. Still it may help your presicent keep his word though I doubt anyone was thinking that water and air would become as scarce as electricity!

This is what its all about:

    Petroceltic to explore in Sinai

Exploration company Petroceltic International has been awarded a new license in Egypt. Block 12 'Ela Qa'a Plain'' is composed of two largely unexplored areas covering 1,824 square kilometres in the southern part of the Sinai Peninsula. The company said that the overall licence term is six years, with the work commitment in the first four year period comprising new 3D seismic data and the drilling of at least one exploration well.

Petroceltic has a 37.5pc working interest in the site, while Dana Petroleum and Beach Petroleum also have working interests.

This is the kind of news Abu wants us to read not articles about Presidential broken promises or electricity cuts.

    LOL,
You send an article about some company getting license to look for oil in some place in Sinai and a picture of Mursi with a protective hat.
What do you think we are illiterate Falahs from the delta ?

Fact is, Egypt has no oil to light the houses.
Egypt also has no money to pay for exported oil or any other energy source to light the houses.
Not even at a discount I'm sure your beloved Arab brothers who swim in money is willing to give Egypt.
Or maybe, they are not really your brothers when it comes to helping you out....

Anyways, unlike what you wrote every thing shut down at 22:00 not 24:00.
Only some tourists attractions stay open till 24:00 to cater the rich spoiled tourists.
Those places need to get special license to operate till then.

A controversial government decision to close shops early has stirred a heated debate over whether it would be efficient to save energy. A hardline Islamist preacher had a totally new perspective.

This act is used by religiouse "leaders" as a way of controlling the masses
The label who even opposes them as Islam enemy. Using their religiouse authority for political gain:

An excellent post. To this, I can contribute this:

Yep, a bunch of individual generators makes about as much sense as everyone owning a personal automobile or two instead of relying on buses and trains. It's all grossly wasteful and inefficient, and not terribly good for the planet either.
