My point is, why is a lockdown required in order to save your life when YOU can simply decide to isolate?

No one living in any urban environment can isolate themselves completely from other people. Very few people even in heavy rural surroundings could do that for any length of time. I'm not talking about matters of well-being here either but just actually being within 6 feet of someone else. You still have to answer the door to the food deliverer, etc.

And COVID is a serious risk from a food deliverer?

It’s a risk from any infected person

If they have it and are asymptomatic, yes.

That's the problem here, EVERYONE is a potential Typhoid Mary, and you don't have to prepare food. It's enough to just be AROUND someone.

It's certainly not unusual for diseases to be spread this way but I don't recall many where the risk is so great from asymptomatic people, then again, I am not an epidemiologist and find that discipline particularly difficult.

A very close friend of mine began working from home in early March. Her only real contact with anyone outside her home was home delivered pizza. She got covid and nearly died. Almost certainly from delivery

Another person I know (mother of a friend) was delivering Meals on Wheels to the elderly. She got it early. One of the first cases in our area

She lived alone and literally never left the house?

    How is this story relevant?

She was a delivery person. She GOT it from delivering food to the elderly

Both of these infections occurred when there were very few cases

You simply can NOT effectively isolate any portion of the population . Trying to claim that the elderly can simply stay home is NOT an effective strategy

Does the science tell us that this DEFINITELY means that someone never had COVID?

How does she know that she got it from delivering food?

You can’t figure out how to get food delivered without breaking the 6 ft social distancing recommendation? Hmmm.

What was the incidence of mask usage in these cases? Or did both happen at the time the authorities were sacrificing the general public welfare in favor of healthcare professionals?

The meals on wheels makes sense, but the pizza delivery confounds me. Was it a fomites issue or were they actually interacting at the door?

I just can’t understand the rationale of ordering food and then answering the door and interacting with someone. I guess I shouldn’t expect rational behavior at this point. Clearly that ship has sailed.

You do realize that most of the elderly have a slight problem with hauling and slaughtering game and heavy farming work? (It didn't bother my grandfather either who provided venison for us in his 90th year, but he was a rather exceptional man, as grandma liked to say)
