By coming up with solutions that don't require tax increases, duh.

Romney had black supporters...and so do Republicans. We can't help it if they vote 98% for Democrats every election. They might agree with many of our issues, but being a Democrat is so much a part of their identity, they wouldn't consider changing. We certainly have black Republicans, though.

He is going to do that for the next 4 years, so that the Republican nominee in 2016 will get a better chance for elected. The popular vote was even with the President only winning by a few thousand votes.

So if the Republicans continue to obstruct the law making process, we will see a lot of the same we saw the last 4 years. However, that is better than a Republican in office for the next 4 years so its the lesser of two evil.

Which party are you talking about? The libertarian party? The Republican party is a big government party of fiscal irresponsibility!! The Republican hero is Reagan, he increased the debt by percentage more than any president ever, with the exception of FDR(who had the great depression and much more importantly WWII to deal with). Yet he is still the party hero. I am sick of the party of big government and big deficits lying to me and telling me they are a party of small government and fiscal responsibility!!

It is generally accepted that the only responsible way to eliminate the deficit is a combination of tax hikes and spending increases.

More generally, that is Obama's basic negotiating position. By flatly ruling out tax cuts, Boehner is slamming the door on negotiation.

What part of "you lost" and "compromise" don't Republicans get?

Obama's Administration said "we tried bipartisanship in 2011. We won't make that mistake again". You're incorrectly assuming Obama has any intention of bipartisanship. You shouldn't make such silly errors.

Oh good Lord. And now we find out that Colorado passed by 53% to 47% to legalize adult possession and use of marijuana. Libs are taking us down. Where are the responsible libs?????? My mother was a lib and she was nothing like the current day libs. Seriously. Do liberals not care about the country? Their kids? Their grandkids? Anything????

Um... there's a *reason* blacks vote 98% for Democrats: because Democrats appeal to them on the issues and Republicans don't. You most certainly *can* help it -- by buying a few clues and figuring out *why* the GOP has no appeal to blacks and Latinos, and *changing* that.

Now that defeating President Obama in 2012 is off the table, Republican obstructionism will no longer be a winning strategy. Their House majority will be on the line in 2014. Another big bonus.

Boehner is weeping tonight, for real.

Why would the party smaller govt, states rights and personal freedom/responsiblity have a problem with more freedom for adults?

Greece will get bailed out by the European welfare states that are more successful than it, I think they are the worst example of the Democratic utopia of socialism.

However, Colorado legalizing Marijuana for "recreational usage" rather than medicinal usage as California is going too far to Europe in my opinion. I don't know if Amsterdam is a place we want the United States to be like.

Sure, they care. They care about redistributing wealth from white people, who obtained it unscrupulously. They care about gay sex. They care about drug use. Anything beyond that can be shelved if necessary.

Nice speculation. If Boehner hadn't been so eager to be first to be stupidly partisan, we might have been able to test your hypothesis.

Speculation? Obama's Administration flat out said they won't make the mistake of attempting bipartisanship again. It's only speculation if you believe they aren't telling the truth.

Obama said "we won, you lost" when he won in 2008. That set the stage. Don't (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) about obstructionism. Obama had an easier time ramming his (*)(*)(*)(*) through Congress than any other President in recent history.
