From Dlisted (my favorite news source) Sometimes, I just really wonder what the world is coming to when Elmo is having teh sex with 16 year olds. Thank God, that Super Grover was never into that freaky (*)(*)(*)(*) or my childhood would be OVER. Why can't people just let the teens be teens and find some college age kids who are 18 for this (*)(*)(*)(*)ery?
Big Bird was just a distraction. I hear that Miss Piggy was told to stay away from a certain former four star in an angry e-mail.
Just a question, and I am not condoning sex with minors, but if this was such a bad experience for the 16 year old, why did he continue to go back? Am I missing something here? ETA: My 1st sexual relationship was with an adult when I was 16. I was in heaven!
I don't know the state sex statutes where it happened, but even in his favor, that would be borderline behavior. He would be too old for a a 16 yr old girl.
Now that I am a grown man, I agree. When I was 16, I was open to it...LOL Anyway, I still want to know why he continued to engage. 'It wasn't bad' is my guess.
I'm more curious as to how 'the voice of Elmo' rationalized such a thing, time and time again (provided the accusations are true).
I hear ya. That said, it seems like the "victim" might be digging for gold here. If you go back for multiple sexual liaisons, you might be enjoying yourself. If not, you would expect the victim to report it, right?
I know someone who got talked into having sex by someone they looked up to as a teen and they had sex multiple times, but once they had a real relationship as they got older they realized that they had been coerced and taken advantage of because the older person put them in a difficult position. Not all people have the strength to say "no" to someone they admire or look up to.
Steve, you seem to be pulling hard for the pedo. As a libertarian, do you want sex with minor laws to be relaxed somewhat?
I would never consider my 1st to be a predator. I was 16, she was early 20s in college. It was my friends older sister who was visiting. She was hot. I would never say that was sexual abuse. Would you?
I just like to apply common sense to things. If a teen boy gets lucky with a hot teacher, is that a crime? I don't think so. Should she be a teacher? No. She should find another profession, e.g. stripper...LOL I know there is a double standard for females. It is very difficult to rationalize an older male with a younger female. I think that's why we have the laws.
It's hard to turn down pressure for adults in the workplace, hence the sexual harassment laws. It's even harder for teens. Heck, I got the hard sale the other day and it was difficult coming up with reasons to say "no". Most people have a hard time saying no when someone is pressuring them that they admire or like.
Everyone is different. I just think that a 16 year old male making allegations against his former gay lover, who happens to be a celebrity, seems like an attempt at getting paid. Honestly, I would say the same thing for a female at that age. At 16 years old, you should be able to determine if you are in a consensual relationship or not. If not, why keep going back for more? At this point, I call BS on the victim card.
No 16 YO male with raging hormones, and not taught moral discipline by his parents can "turn down" easy sex.
