Chu doesn't need a car of his own, I'm sure a Lincoln Town Car from a car service picks him up and brings him home everyday.

Do as I say, not as I do, I'd have thought with Chu's yapping about bringing our gas prices in line with Europe and alternate energy push his wife would drive a Chevy Volt or solar powered Yugo. Obviously ole Stevie Mileage Max. To me he's just Al Gore in a different package. The same Al Gore who preached alternate energy and conservation, yet his own house used enough electricity a month to light the average persons home for a year. Sacrifice is for thee, not for me. Time to flush Obama and the Hypocrite party in November

Note that Obama doesn't own a car either and his limo gets about 1 mpg at best.

Could that be because of the amount of armour required to keep a bunch of right wing racist extremists from killing him?

    Just a thought.

What makes you so sure of that?

Who cares what she drives. If they can afford a luxury car and the gas to power it that's fine by me.

Dictators like Obama need a lot of protection.

But it still leaves him and his bride woefully out of touch with the problems of average Americans.

A condition that he shares with you I might add.

Would you prefer that he rides down Pennsylvania Ave. in a Chevy Malibu?

What I find so funny about this article is that they are calling a BMW 325i a "gas guzzler". LOL, the 3 series is the small compact sedans and are certainly NOT gas guzzlers by any means. I drive a larger 5 series and I get 27 mpg highway, so I know the smaller version would get even better.

Eh? Dictator? Gee, I thought you guys had elections? The USA really has slumped.

One question. I thought you had the guns to protect yourselves from dictatorships? Are you too scared to use them?

Isn't that significantly more efficient than most American cars?

"The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics has reported that the average fuel economy of light-duty passenger vehicles for the 2002 model year was 29.0 mpg, putting Mrs. Chu’s car in the less-than-efficient column."

    Hate less read more.

If you lived in Europe in 2002 you could purchase a 104-mpg Toyota. Or how about using the Shell Oil 376-mpg technology demonstrated in 1973. Documents located www.byronwine.com.

I doubt he's walking the 10 to 12 miles from where he lives to work and back again, what do you think?

    Exactly.

Billy should not get special treatment just because he's a lib and parrots every dumb thought that his hippy single mom believes.

Why can't the conservative sibling who thinks for himself get the same treatment?

Most Repubs that support lowering gas prices also like driving big ass gas guzzlers. Morons.

Of course, I am ALL FOR lowering gas/oil prices, but we have to give a big "(*)(*)(*)(*) you" to Big Oil by using *gasp* SMALLER, MORE EFFICIENT VEHICLES first, and then investing in alternatives.

hmmm, I noticed the rightwing hacks on this thread (RP12, Mac, Professor peabody I think it was, etc.) didn't reply to this..wonder why....

Can you say, Big Oil Lovers??

As much as they rail against high gas prices, they sure love when Big Oil makes Big Profit.

It's a one way street. Either your beloved Big Oil cuts on it's profitability, or else YOU pay MORE at the pump. Can't have it both ways.

I've been to Washington DC, I've never seen a car service that used a Prius.

Is it your contention he's never driven the car he and his wife own? I'll need proof of that please.

Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that he's driven in a luxury car.

So what if he's driven it? And I'll need proof that it's registered in both of their names.

This little thread is nothing but an attempt to knock against some vaguely defined political ideology based on one person that is a member of said vaguely define political ideology. It sucks. I can talk about whatever I want on it. I feel no obligation to respect it.

But yeah, the more profit Big Oil makes, the more we're gonna pay per gallon at the pump. That's the way it works when companies that have monopolies over a valued physical resource exist.
