That's not a consensus prediction. At least not anymore if it even ever was. But it was certainly a mistake to include that as a prediction in official publications. It never should have made it to begin with, but it happened so the next best thing is to correct it which happened quickly. It's proof that the process works. Besides, is that even a "dire" prediction? I mean, it doesn't really fit the doom and gloom of global catastrophe and a civilization ending reckoning day that skeptics/deniers keep telling us exist.

Oh, by the way, I'd like you to hear your thoughts on this ice age stuff deniers keep bringing up. I think we can agree that an ice age would definitely cause civilization to collapse so that sounds pretty "dire" to me. And it's been right around the corner for almost 50 years now so the end is nigh right?

Modern climate science theory does not say that we are warming faster than at anytime in Earth's history. That is your strawman to build up and tear down however you like. Just don't pretend like the scientific consensus participated in your ploy.

^^^^ and then it all starts falling apart. The recognition that the messaging has been hyperbolic, unsubstantiated in the data, it all crumbles. And what is left? Uncertainty at best. If rapid future warming is now off the tables, then what? If all of the hyperbolic hype is truly unfounded, what does our attention then turn to?

If, as the nice folks at NASA are now expressing deep concern for, if temps suddenly fall off the proverbial cliff.... then what?

It was an official IPPC prediction and yeah I think total glacier loss in the Himalayas would have devastating effects on locals and as I remember there were associated predictions of shifts in world climate if this ice was gone.

    What's not accurate? Be specific.

What utter toss. This has been a central theme of climate hyperbole for 3 decades. Since the 80s, this has been the bread and butter assertion of the AGW cult. And don't pretend like you've never said this on this board. You have. Many of your ilk continue to do so.

You're making things up again. NASA is not saying troposphere and hydrosphere temperatures are going to fall off the proverbial cliff.

Fair enough. And what about this ice age we keep hearing about?

That's the argument I hear over and over and I'm positive I've heard it from you. Do I have to do a search on this? Oh wait I see your caveat now, "anytime in Earth's history,". It's true you cherry pick a tiny piece of Earth's history to make that argument and even that just went up in smoke with this "error," being found. Face it, global warming just died, it's over.

Correction. It's been a central theme of alarmist hyperbole for decades. It has never been the theme of mainstream climate science.

I hope that too is a false alarm!

Not even close. You are literally making stuff up as you go along.

    Quiz time...

    1. What was the technique used in the original research?

    2. What was their original conclusion based on the data?

    3. What is the corrected conclusion based on the data?

I'm asking these questions because I'm calling your bluff and I'm forcing you to read and understand the issue.

Yes it makes total sense. Although obviously not to leftists. Myself, I think it has to do with the public schooling as to their reading comprehension.

Sorry but I won't play the subservient role you'd like to force me into. If you don't think that's what the OP said make your case.

Hmmm... you seem unaware of the evidence. How un-noteworthy....

Nice equivocation. As if, suddenly, these two groups are different.... Painted by your own brush are you....:spin:

If the predictions that wanton destruction is upon us turn out to be true then it's accurate and anyone actively denying it will be considered far more dangerous than some camel humping suicide vest wearer. They'll be considered armageddon bringers.

Why? You don't believe in it. Feel the comfort of your own orthodoxy. Would you just stand by and ignore it?

Lay your cards on the table. Where is NASA saying that we can expect the temperature of the troposphere and hydrosphere to fall off the cliff soon?

Of course I don't believe it. It's the complete opposite of what the abundance of evidence suggests. The point...you and Josephwalker and lamenting about all of these "dire" predictions and yet you aren't even looking in your own backyard.

I agree then. I certainly don't think you or any skeptic/denier is a terrorist.

I'm not? I see a lot of deer there usually early in the mornings.. Usually, chowing down on my abundant landscaping.... (I try to do my part... you?)

The question is why you feel that you can determine what "opposite" is. Failing to understand the thermodynamic cycle doesn't seem to indicate that there would be opposing information. Just information. Understanding which side of the slope you're on actually is important though. One wonders why it is so difficult for some...

You have to understand how this comes across. It sounds like you don't even want to know. You just want to make stuff up as you go along. I mean why not right? You certainly aren't ashamed of posting links that make up quotes from scientists and play them off as real (cough...Martin Mlynczak...cough) so why change now? Am I right?
