…"Would anybody like me to run for president?" Former President Donald Trump asked a crowd of thousands of people in a small corner of the palatial Gaylord Opryland hotel in Nashville…

…Ralph Reed, founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, which organized the event, told reporters he is "focused like a laser beam" on the 2022 midterms. But on the second day of the Road to Majority Conference, with Trump's keynote speech hinting again at his likely run for the GOP nomination, 2024 loomed over the day.

Trump’s hold on the Evangelical Christian wing of the Republican Party is strong simply because Trump listened to what the constituents wanted and delivered on his promises, Reed said…

The coalition of Evangelical voters "are not voting on whether or not you’re going to be an elder in their church or you’re going to be admitted into heaven — because only God knows that," Reed said.

The Christian voter doesn’t judge the heart of the politician, according to Reed, but ascertains whether a politician’s stance aligns with their own and evaluates how well that politician delivered on his or her promises. For many, Trump is the only president who followed through on commitments to pro-life, pro-border security and pro-Israel policies….

    T
he bottom line is that Trump delivered on his promises and followed through on the commitments he made. That is why he has the enthusiastic backing of the evangelical community. He supports a lot of the same social and economic policy goals as we do and is committed to religious liberty. Democrat attacks on him only further and deepen our resolve to support him.

The more the secular progressive left democrats attack President Trump the more support both he and his policies have among the conservative base.

I well understood it in 2016 when they compared Trump to Hilla and well - in comparison, Hilla is prolly the only one out there who makes Trump look good. I'm guessing they just got into the habit of supporting him after that. Well, that and he at least pays lip-service to the agenda cuz Biden doesn't in any significant manner.

I'm guessing they're separating the messenger from the message. I'm trying to think of some politician who came close to actually living what a Christian is supposed to be and the closest I got is Jimmah Cahtah - and look how badly he ended up as da prez.

The bottom couple of sentences above, explain the answer to your question pretty well. Also that comment and his hooker issue happened over a decade before he decide he was going to run for President. I’m sure that when he approached religious leaders for their support that they determined there were no more such episodes more recent and that there could be no more such now in order to maintain such support.

They didn't care if Trump was Attila the Hun, as long as he appointed RW SC Justices.
    Simple as that.

I find it funny that the "evangelicals" support Trump.

The man does not follow the word of god, nor the teachings of Jesus. As a matter of fact he could not be further them.

    "
    1 John 4:20
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen."

    1. Nobody is perfect. Only Jesus.

    2. We cannot judge another Christian. Only God can do that.

    3. The ***** grabbing comment was hyperbole that was taken totally out of context. I bet you can't accurately quote, or even paraphrase that comment.

They were good choices though I preferred Barbara Lagoa over Barrett.

All have impeccable qualifications and none of them is an extremist.

Jesus, a 4th thread about Trump's campaign speech at this religious propaganda event??

Mods, does the current events section need to have a 4th thread about that event? Please merge all of the OPs threads regarding this campaign speech event into one thread and place on the correct section of these forums.

    Thanks in advance.

Not any more "ridiculous" than people who are constantly spamming RW Opinion Threads into the Wrong Section...
And, anybody who thinks that Evangelicals didn't hold their nose and vote for Trump b/c of SC Justices, doesn't understand the dynamics of Nov. 2016.

    In the context of THIS:

^Based on that hard to believe a Perma-Ban hasn't kicked in.
At this point, It is hard to believe that posting privilieges even exist.
