Are you suggesting that all trump supporters are responsible for the actions of each of them? Otherwise he only slandered 2 imaginary people.

 

Coulda, shoulda, woulda. I'm referring to what actually happened, not what could have happened if circumstances had been different. The guy is an ass and he (allegedly) made an incredibly stupid decision for totally self serving reasons. I don't believe that he was set up by anybody. I'm a democrat, I'm a liberal, I despise Trump and all he stands for. I do not understand racism or bigotry, nor do I tolerate it from those around me. All that considered, I do not defend in any way the hoax Smollet (allegedly) perpetrated. I just don't get why suddenly an entire political party is responsible for his nefarious actions, nor do I understand why some people are positively rabid over the majority believing his story initially and being upset by it.

 

Because the real world is very different from the world you perceive it to be. In the world you perceive it to be, every MAGA-hat wearing American(including HS kids) are bigoted racists hiding in the closet. You perceive it because major news networks have grossly lied to you, to the day by the way. And they don't apologize for it.

In the real world, in this 327 million population country, maybe there's about 500,000 racists. Big number right? Statistically, it might not even be 1%. That is to say for every racist American you meet, at least 7/10(at least) are not racist. That's probably a conservative estimate.

And more specifically, Caucasian-Americans have been unfairly and racially targeted. Wishing death to our grandparents and great grandparents because our society doesn't need anymore "Angry white people"(Hey, I'm only quoting the Huffingtonpost, etc.). Alot of this spurned the 2016 Trump election, and I'm afraid Russia had very little to do with it.

It would be preferable if Left extremism was created by the Kremlin. Unfortunately, it's our own Frankenstein, perverting Dr. King's wishes. So much for a color blind society.

Donald Trump didn't invent it . But he did supercharge it. He speaks perfect Archie Bunker (even has the same Queens accent). And his audience hears every dog whistle loud and clear (the wall is his biggest dog whistle).

Trump started out as a birther. He dropped out after his carnival reality show was renewed, and after Obama punked him in public.

But he never let the race baiting drop. He switched to Mexihate for the 2016 campaign, and has stuck with it diligently ever since.

When I read and hear right wingers and Trump supporters say the exact same thing that came out of the mouths of bigots in the 1960's, I would laugh at your claims were they not so discouraging. And the rhetoric is not only similar, they use the same language and code words. Just about the only thing they don't do is use the N word in public. All the rhetoric, the stereotypes, the fearmongering and the resentment are virtually identical.

Your post serves as notice that all the hate and fear filled rhetoric I heard when I was growing up may well be passed on to a the next unborn generation. Which is a national tragedy, if it comes to pass.

Always add at least 5 points to all Trump polls to adjust for polling bias and the polling blind spot to avoid being shocked again by the next election.

 

After reading through the original thread on this subject its laughable to see all the liberals who were openly defending this guy, even taking bets that he was telling the truth.
