If an elaborate conspiracy can be proven, rather than loose threads associations(which it still appears to look like.) I'd hope that Pence doesn't pardon Trump. I believe Nixon's pardoning to now be a mistake where this kind of behavior was seen as permissible, if at least forgivable. We have to send a strong message that loyalty to the nation is above all else, including one's chance of winning the oval office.

Regardless, I am generally on the side of Special Counsel Mueller and the FBI's investigation. I want to see this report and I want to know all details. Hell, I think all meetings should be unclassified and all of this on the record. To me, it won't endanger national security but in fact strengthen it to show the Kremlin: We know everything, including where your criminals are. We should expel every Russian diplomat and every Russian National within the US. They are simply not welcome here.

You're not old enough to remember Watergate.

Believe me, as uncomfortable as it was to, pardoning Nixon was the right thing to do.

It cost Jerry Ford the White House in 1976, but it got the country past the scandal.

But remember, Nixon had the integrity and sense of duty to understand that resigning was the right thing to do for the institution of the Presidency.

Trump has no such understanding, no sense of duty, and no integrity.

His will be a scorched earth retreat.

And the prospect of a pardon in that case may be an entirely different matter.

Only time and events will tell.

His approval rating is at 38%. He's got six federal investigations on his hands.

He won by a hair in 2016, with a deficit of 3 million votes.

And in the parallel universe in which you live, I am convinced that you believe that his chances are even better in 2020...

I'd prefer a Hillary presidency to any of the 2020 Democrats right now. I mean, I still don't think she's capable of the position but neither is anyone else and she'll have Billy there to give her pointers.

I think she would win, but she was a republican before she met Bill, so someone more to the left may be a better pick

I remember every single moment of the Watergate affair, and I disagree. Nixon should have had to stand trial, and if the evidence had proved him guilty, he should have been impeached and removed from office.

By letting him off the hook and letting him 'resign' all we did was 'look the other way' when we had a perfectly intact judicial system drawing upon a bank of LAWS to use. We took a narcotic "feel-better pill" instead of curing the disease!

wow, Republicans are not very smart, when one says Hillary got 3 million more votes then Trump, it's obvious to everyone but a Trump supporter they are talking about the peoples votes, not the electoral votes, your first clue should be there is not even 1000 electoral votes

Nixon knew he was toast, because of what he had done.

No President should be railroaded out of the White House because of the corrupt efforts of an opposition party, corrupt government officials, and a corrupt partisan media ministry.

Is that a precedent Progressives want to establish?

I can assure you the groundwork for a quid pro quo that will face the next Democrat in the White House is already significant.

you can't stop a President from resigning and say.... no, we want to fire you....people may of wanted to see that, but it would not be realistic

Her republican past is actually what intrigues me. Screw 'medicare for all'(it's bankrupt for seniors right now, can you imagine adding millions of more American users), screw a wealth tax that penalizes American citizens for leaving. Get me someone who's real.

She's real. May or may not be effective, but she's real.
