Extremism in America

Sadly, the loudest voices in America aren't the voices of reason or the voices of liberty for all, but the voices of extremism.

Moderates, people who vouch for compromise and believe in live & let live are drowned out by those minority, but much louder voices. We're labeled many things including being unreasonable by people who scream their opinions as being facts.

It's bad when such people take over a neighborhood or a major political party, worse when they are in control of a nation. Things often become very bad very quickly in such cases as history has shown.

I apologize to those who I have been unfair to, but stand by my opinion of those who are voicing anti-American, anti-Constitutional ideologies while waving the flag and declaring themselves to be "true Americans".

It's the extremists who are seeking to shout out and shut down the voices of all opposition, despite the fact most Americans oppose them. They are winning the war against me. I'm on the verge of being forced to leave this forum due to the screams of those extremists on both sides.

Once gone, I won't return since there's no point to returning. Being forced out of anything means one force has taken over and pissing up a rope won't make it better. Best to just move on to other pastures in that case.

FWIW, I think our nation is strong enough, robust enough and resilient enough to survive the assclown extremists on either end of the two major party ideologies. History proves we've done it before and I have no doubt we'll do it again.

As for my time here, if I suddenly disappear, it's been fun! Best wishes to all and please have a happy life.

 

BTW, this thread is not a comment about moderation but about how a minority of loud voices can shape society among a group of majority silent voices.

As the title states, extremism in America is shaping our nation. Time for the moderates to start speaking up.

Just for the record, so everyone here is aware, Max Rockatansky is a (progressive) liberal, with a slight tinge of libertarianism (civil liberties concerns) and a bit more conservatively-minded economic stance, judging by his prior posts.
I'd place bets he's a firmly set Democratic Party voter, but isn't the happiest with the direction the Democratic Party has gone.

Agreed. Unfortunately, the minority squeaky wheels are taking over the majority of Americans be they LW or RW.

Some people have predicted a second Civil War in America (Yes, RWNJs) but I doubt they realize it will be the majority middle against the extremist assclowns who are tearing our nation down. I will be fighting against the extremists on both sides when the shooting starts. You are free to stand with me or against me.

This forum is just for chat. For fun, but if you really take it so seriously, you can have it. I'll take my ban and leave. You will undoubtedly declare yourself a winner which is very sad since that is the only win you will have in your life.

I assure you, this is one of the most fairly non-partisan political forums out there, and the mods are generally very open-minded to members with very different political views. If you're being banned here (and I'm not saying it's fair) it's very unlikely to be based primarily on your political views.

 

Moderates are irrelevant. They are a tiny percentage of clueless white people who have no idea what is going on or what they're actually up against.

They will never take control of anything nor will they be written about in the history books.

The future for America is the restoration of American pride through the driving force of right wing authoritarianism or neomarxist globalism.

 

There is nothing extreme about the fight for liberty against the overpowering threat of our bureaucratic would be overlords and the burgeoning insanity of our would be leftist rulers.

There are certain places where moderation is a good idea, consumption of booze and drugs and really most things you can put in your mouth. However modertion in the pursuit of liberty begets only slavery.

I've been banned myself but I also deserved it because I didn't follow the rules.

Our moderators here are extremely fair so you should not be claiming that you are "targeted" for anything.

Many liberal posters have been here for years and years with no problems because they follow the rules.

 

So pretty sure the other day he got an infraction for accusing me of murdering children and old people. Hence this thread of his complaining about being “targeted” because he’s a poor innocent moderate who never did nothing. Yup...

 

I've always been warned discretely when I've crossed the line and usually I apologize and heed that warning and that's the end of it.

Its a political forum and everyone gets in a heated discussion once in awhile but you shouldn't keep pushing it.

In my view this is the very best moderated forum for politics on the net, its why I'm here.

Someone who can remain a “moderate” after the last 50 years of demographic sabotage, the planned replacement of the American people with the 3rd world, the hollowing out of our industry, indebtedness in the tens, if not hundreds of trillions of dollars, the perverting of our moral fabric and customs, is basically a liberal who is happy with the current direction of the country, but just wants to get there a bit slower.

what I said is a fact either the far right-wing or the far left wing will inherit this land. I agree with you that the odds are most likely the far-left will win in the end. But if the right wing wants it strongly enough, there are still options left for us on the table.

 

Max claims to be a fallen republican who did not get every single thing he wanted from the GOP

But for many people being an independent means they never have share responsibility for anything that happens

 

To be fair however Max does drive on both sides of the road depending on what the issue is
